50+ farmers attended a small presentation by @hasiruaqua in Malur, Karnataka to understand the need and impact of inland fish farming. We also had participation from departments of horticulture, fisheries and agriculture. All farmers have expressed interest in cultivating 🐟

Check out this video testimonial from one of the co-founders of @hasiruaqua sharing his experience of using #OSM to help inland fish farmers in India. By using @mapswipe to identify ponds, the farmers can increase their fish farming capacities to up to 9000 tonnes per year.

Thanks for helping us complete ~30% of the campaign. We’ve found close to 9000 ponds that we can activate in just 3 districts of Karnataka. That’s a lot of fish! 😳

We’re so happy to share that our first batch of fish-fingerlings have reached the farms 🥳🥳
It will take 8-10 months of caring and monitoring till they are ready for harvest, at which point we will be able to provide hygienic, healthy fish to consumers.

Shipped our first batch of feed today 🚀
After plenty of research and testing during our MVP we zeroed in on this grade of feed. It still does not meet our quality standards so we will be working with farmers to make our own feed 💪
