New Exhibition Announcement 📣 Time flies from exhibition to exhibition. But time has flown faster than I thought possible from my accident as later this year marks 17 years since my life totally changed. That’s 17 years pre and post accident.

Tom has picked an arbitrary data source to make a whopping false equivalence here. By using NASA's budget, he's comparing apples with space rockets — trying to make a shocking point. It's utterly disingenuous. To understand the comparisons in welfare spend versus space rockets, we only need to look at the percentage relative data for each source. Let's look at NASA first. In the 1960s when the space race was well and truly underway, NASA was receiving around 4.3% of the US federal budget, but since the Apollo craze died off that tailed off every decade. The moon landing happened, the world moved on. 70s ≈ 1% 90s ≈ 0.8% 00s ≈ 0.7% 10s ≈ 0.5% 20s ≈ 0.35% As for the UK's welfare spending, it has remained relatively stable around for a long time now, with a slight downward trend. As a percentage of government spending, it shows: 1990 ≈ 28-30% 2000 ≈ 27-29% 2010 ≈ 33-35% 2019 ≈ 26% 2020 ≈ 28% 2024 ≈ 23-24% 2025 ≈ 23.6% You can see that things fluctuate, and you can see the upticks after the economic crash in 2008 and during Covid, but, as a trend, not much happening. As a percentage of GDP, it's even more stable: 1990 ≈ 9-10% 2010/12 ≈ 11-12% 2019 ≈ 10% 2025/26 ≈ 10.6–10.9% So you can see, while Tom thinks he's pulled off a slam dunk in statistical terms, when you actually look into his claim, it's more of an own goal. He's comparing two entirely different data sources, and the numbers don't back up his figures. Nice try Tom.

I don’t think the average Brit realises that this year we are spending the equivalent of the entire NASA budget on benefits uplifts alone…

Before my accident I always enjoyed pushing myself physically, and this is exactly the same challenge, just on a fundamentally different level. It’s tough and exhausting both physically and mentally but when you put in the effort all that pain turns into something positive.

@KemiBadenoch The most severe cases of disability, the payout for Pip is almost £800. So, I know a person who receives 4 times the maximum a disabled person gets to survive on, in their second home rent expenses..do you want to guess who gets that Kemi?? Mp's are biggest welfare cheats of all.

Unpaid carers receive £83.30 a week. 47% do 90+ hrs of complex medical & disability care, that’s 92p an hour. Calling support a “welfare giveaway” while carers keep people alive for less than £1 an hour is indefensible.
Kemi Badenoch@KemiBadenoch

Rachel Reeves is hiking taxes on hard-working people to fund a vast welfare giveaway. Britain isn’t working… because Labour thinks living within your means is optional. Only the @Conservatives have the plan and the backbone to put that right.

I'm genuinely ashamed of being a Brit. I'm 53 and my disability stopped me working after 35 years. I have NEVER seen this much hate for the poor/elderly and especially disabled than what's happening now. WE are not the cause of everyone's woes that Politicians are peddling🤬
