@coreysfrost I truly agree with the idea of never marking a clip as bad. I learned this through many years of screwing that idea up. If a clip is marked as bad, people don’t look at it. But there could be four frames in there that save the movie, and I’m not kidding.

I know it would never be possible due to privacy reasons… but in my head lives a YouTube channel that contains every clip of “room tone” ever recorded, including tens-of-thousands of documentary interviewees each looking completely confused during their 30 seconds of fame.

One of the downsides of working remote is not being able to mess with the other editors. I would walk up to the door to their edit bays, quietly open it a bit, and wait for the right moment to burst out a low, deep, “Ponnnnd Fiiiiive”.

I’m an editor. So yes, that means 15-20 years later I’m still thinking about cuts I made, and how they could’ve been better. All my previous work rolls through my head constantly. Just today, I realized how to make a TV spot I cut back in 2007 better.
