First Gazan to file a case against Hamas at the ICC demanding that 14 Hamas leaders be investigated for crimes committed against the Palestinian people and other war crimes. The Gazan who filed the case lost his wife, children, and home during the Gaza war.
All war criminals must be held accountable.

At dawn on Friday, settler Israelis set fire to a mosque and multiple vehicles and sprayed racist graffiti on the mosque's wall in the village of Jibiya northwest of Ramallah. The graffiti reads, "For the liberation of Jerusalem" as today marks Jerusalem Day in Israel.

Gazans are uniquely vulnerable and must be treated differently. E.g. if someone offered a loan to a Gazan, that would be a heinous act. But Western "pro-Palestine" Communists take this principle to infantilizing levels: 'don't listen to Gazans if they say things we don't like, e.g. condemn Hamas. They don't mean it, they're just suffering.'

@HowidyHamza Well, lots of the Kristof article is such a joke that one has to question all of it, especially the sourcing. I have no doubt that Israel has horrible prisons. Most countries do. And no doubt there is abuse. Same thing. I have seen Israelis prosecute some jailers.

Reading the piece on the sexual abuse of Palestinian prisoners, then going to another piece on Hamas's sexual abuse of the victims of October the 7th, is quite horrific. There's quite a childish ping-pong attitude of both sides trying to prove that only their side has "legitimate victims" or a "legitimate narrative". Even with this post, I am expecting some outrage or dissatisfaction from the two sides because I am writing about the two stories in the same post.
Though During the past two years we saw enough evidence to prove that the two horrific acts actually exist. On the one hand, the leaked video from the notorious Sde Taiman detention facility along with numerous testimonies from ex-Palestinian prisoners. On the other hand, there was also much evidence, and now more is showing up along with numerous testimonies on Hamas's sexual abuse of the victims of October 7th. Even more, there were recent testimonies of Palestinian women and children on how Hamas sexually abused them (Interestingly, we did not see the same outrage from the Pro-Palestine camp).
I am not expecting either of the two sides to hold their criminals accountable; the tribalism machinery dominating this conflict is too massive to allow such a thing. One doesn't have much to add to this but to encourage people & NGOs to think of ways and programs to help the victims of these acts heal from what they have been through, as it will be stuck with the victims during all their lives.

This is what happened in Tammunn last night: the Israeli army opened their fire on a Palestinian family who were on their way to buy clothes for Eid al-Fitr and killed father Ali Khaled Bani Odeh, 37; his wife, Waad Othman Bani Odeh, 35; and their two children, Mohammed, 5, and Othman, 7 years old. The other two children, Mustafa, 8, and Khaled, 11, sustained shrapnel injuries to the head and face. When Palestinian Red Crescent crews arrived, Israeli forces blocked them from reaching the wounded inside the vehicle and forced them to leave the scene entirely before eventually allowing them to retrieve the four bodies. This is the West Bank in 2026.
