This is happening, btw, after Israeli authorities closed the mosque to Muslim worshippers for nearly 18 days during their holy month. Now, the "compensation" they got from the same authorities is batons, stun grenades, and tear gas as they attempt to observe Eid al-Fitr. Living under Israeli military occupation sucks.

Watch: Israeli police attacked Palestinians, gathering to pray outside Jerusalem’s old city, for the first day of Eid Al Fitr. Since the start of the war with Iran, Israel closed Al Aqsa compound and the other holy sites in the city

Correction: The photo was taken in Kfar Qasem, an Arab town in Israel, after an Iranian missile struck the town.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog visited the Palestinian family whose relatives were killed by an Iranian missile yesterday. This is something nice to see. I hope this doesn’t stop here, that the same gesture will be extended to the family in Tammun who lost their loved ones days ago and to those facing daily terror attacks from settlers across the West Bank.

HORRIFIC: While Palestinian women were preparing to celebrate Eid in Hebron in the West Bank, an Iranian missile struck them in a hair salon, killing at least four and wounding many others. Not sure how anyone can support such evil and still have the audacity to invoke the name of Palestine in the process.

I’m no fan of anyone in this horrible Iranian regime but it has been Israeli policy since the early 1970s to undermine the moderates: Palestinians, Lebanese, Iraqis and now Iranians. They don’t want moderates, they want weak and therefore perpetual conflict

Unprecedented: Egypt's highest Muslim authority, Al Azhar, issued a statement condemning the Iranian regime's attacks on Arab states.

I did read it Ihab, and saw how the writer made a swift moral acknowledgment before spending 5,000 words telling us how he was "immersed in his writings" and "discovered a brilliant thinker" whose arguments are "genuinely thought-provoking". Take Sinwar for example, who also wrote a novel: would any outlet dedicate the bulk of 5,000 words to first-person intellectual admiration for him, with his atrocities mentioned swiftly? What I'm trying to say is that he found his mind more interesting than the atrocities he's responsible for, and that is a choice deserves to be criticized.

Hamza, read the article. "He orchestrated Iran's massacre of protesters. He is also a philosopher who has written books on Kant. The writings of Ali Larijani, the Islamic Republic's top security official, reveal an elusive and multifaceted figure." This was not romanticizing him at all.

In a new @AtlanticCouncil issue brief, I examine a question that sits at the center of Gaza’s economic future: who controls access to money? For decades, Gaza’s financial system has operated under extreme constraints—limited banking access, cash shortages, disrupted transfers, and a heavy reliance on informal intermediaries and Israeli correspondent banking. These conditions make recovery harder, distort markets, and limit the ability of ordinary Palestinians to make basic economic decisions about their own lives. The argument is straightforward: reconstruction cannot succeed if Palestinians remain financially constrained. Financial access is a foundation for stability, dignity, and long-term economic resilience. In the brief, I explore the potential economic agency of Palestinians while maintaining transparency and compliance in aid and remittance flows. You can read the full piece here: atlanticcouncil.org/in-depth-resea… #FinancialInclusion #EconomicResilience #Gaza

New Afghanistan is on the way. Islamists have the same script, shifting the focus from their OWN failures to such absurd stuff & decisions. The same way Palestinian Islamists started their careers with burning Gaza's alcohol shops & Gaza's only cinema in the first & second intifadas and then went to kill Palestinians in 2006-7 to make Gazastan. The Islamists in Syria are following the same path, massacring minorities in the coast & Swaida to now making such decisions to distract their own societies. Wait for them to establish Syria's morality police.
Elizabeth Tsurkov@LizHurra

The governor of Damascus issued a decision banning the sale of open containers of alcohol across the city, except for in 3 Christian neighborhoods. The governor of Lattakia previously issued a series of decisions restricting personal freedoms. A concerning pattern.

HORRIFIC | Roa’a Saleem Mussa, a Palestinian woman living in Istanbul, posted a video as a plea after being threatened by an officer from the Palestinian Authority in Jenin who is obsessed with her and is trying to force her into a marriage she refuses. According to Roa’a, this man has already sent people after her in Istanbul three times. He is also terrorizing her family back home with repeated threats, trying to break them so they force her to submit. She has tried to talk to everyone. She’s reached out to people in power to make him stop, but nobody has stepped up. She is filming this because she is terrified that the next time his men find her, she won’t be able to get away. Roa'a says if anything happens to her she is holding this officer and the Palestinian Authority is responsible.
