I'm telling you right now, the issue with this game is expectations. It's clear these devs are MMO devs because arguably MMOs are grindfests until you reach end game and that's when the game opens up. These devs didn't design for the general market I fear. They should have.

@JimboJones79785 @NextGenPlayer Mid games don't sell 2 million copies in 24 hours. The player counts and sales over the weekend will determined if its just successful or a smash hit. My guess is 3-day could be 6-8 million. Pushing it close to Black Myth Wukong super success.

Crimson Desert NOT getting rave reviews on Steam, that's for sure. I read through a bunch of reviews and it's a mix of lack of story and difficult combat and goofy keybinds. Total vouch from me on the keybinds. Even rebinding keys doesn't fully help because even if two binds share a key (ex: CTRL) and you move one, you cannot move the other to the same key. That frustrating af. Also the requirement to hit multiple keys for some basic tasks, like talking is silly. I would highly recommend using a controller, it does help. Unfortunately for me! My controller LB broke so I am locked to K&M until I grab a new one later today. But I've found the combat actually great. There's loads of variation and it has a great parry system. I do wonder if people are button mashing because that, you cannot not because it will lock you out of parry/block. Use timed attacks to flow with battle. It helps! (think: SIFU) There is also no difficulty option (Journo/Normal/Hard) so you play the game at its set difficulty, even bosses. There's no being walked through puzzles either, you have to figure them out on your own. (HINT: Remember your skills) Comments do seem to support the game running very well. Even negative reviews point that out and I think that was my biggest worry going into the game. I highly recommend the game, but definitely think if non-button-mashing combat is for you.

After almost 5hr. Crimson Desert is the most boring game I've played in a long time. I don't know how much longer I can take. It's taking all 6 infinity stones to keep me going at this point. I'll probably drop it before the weekend is over if it don't get better🥱🥱🥱

Wow who could’ve predicted that Crimson Desert would be an extremely vast, contextless tech demo ocean with the depth of a puddle and absolutely nothing interesting beyond its scale.

If you did into the people making those reviews you will notice a pattern. Many played Concord, Dragon Age Veilguard and High Guard and gave them glowing almost robotic script reviews. Many have almost no other games bought. And the rest are private with weird post histories. This is being engineered its not organic reviews.
