Even though this nollywood movie ended well. Medicine & surgery does not run the GPA pattern. Our pattern is even more dangerous than this GPA thing.our 50% is other courses 85% You will almost die to get a 50% If you get a 70% you are an alien from another planet Haa!! Medical school was worse than Iran versus America war!! Please just for history sake, I want to ask the younger doctors if medical school is still like that or are all of you guys now better in passing exams or is life better for you all . Chai!! Oooh Medical school Every day results of test comes out you enter coma and wake up again!! What an interesting experience!! Chai!! lol!!! How me survived was a miracle!! lol!!

1. My son, currently in 400 Level Medicine and Surgery scored 333 in JAMB but his name did not even APPEAR on the Admission List. I was later told by the Institution that, my son could be offered Micro Biology. I told the Registrar of the institution POINT BLANK that, "I have spent HUGELY (Several Millions of Naira) to get my Son to this Point of Entry (PoE) to become a Medical Doctor and not to become a Biology Teacher through her offer of Micro Biology. This Registrar was so MEAN. She simply told me, we are very sorry, Micro Biology is the BEST we can OFFER your son. 2. At this Juncture, I proceeded to JAMB Headquarters, Abuja to meet with Prof. Oloyede who swiftly asked for my son's JAMB details, punched these details into his laptop and everything concerning the university came up on his screen. 3. Prof. Oloyede said and I quote: "Dr. Muyiwa Kayode, please go back home and sleep with your two eyes closed. From what I am seeing on my screen, your son is No.3 on the List of Medicine and Surgery of this institution with a JAMB SCORE of 333 which comes behind two other JAMB scores of 348 & 334 respectively. Unfortunately, none of these chaps, including your Son (i.e JAMB Score 348, 334 and 333) made the Admission List" 4. Prof. Oloyede continued and I quote: "Dr. Muyiwa Kayode, in SANE countries, this Institution should have sent the College Driver with an official vehicle to go and fetch your son from Ekiti to campus having projected himself into the MERIT LIST of this Institution but unfortunately, the endemic corruption in these institutions will just not allow them to follow Due Process" 5. Right in my presence, Prof. Oloyede put a call through to the Vice Chancellor of this Institution, setting his phone on speaker and spoke angrily at the Vice Chancellor, lamenting on the endemic corruption under his nose as it concerns university admission. This Vice Chancellor apologized to Prof. Oloyede saying what has just happened must have been an ERROR of OVERSIGHT on the part of his Management Team & promised Prof. Oloyede that he will personally ensure the Error of Oversight is corrected. 6. Within 24 hrs of that conversation between Prof. Oloyede and the Vice Chancellor, my son checked the university's Admission Portal and discovered his name has been INCLUDED as Number Three on the admission list while the names of the other chaps that scored 348 & 334 also appeared on the admission list as Number One and Number Two respectively. 7. The good news in all of these is that, my son that would have been CRIMINALLY denied admission ab-initio now TOPS his class with a G.P.A of 4.85 This is neither Federal nor State government doing... Every sector of the economy in Nigeria is corrupt. Photo: Prof Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board ( JAMB )

I am Nigerian, and right now my dream is bigger than me. Only about 4.5% of medical literature globally are represented on Black skin. That means millions of Black patients are learning from systems that barely look like them. Medical students study diseases on skin tones that are not their own. Doctors are trained with visual references that often fail Black bodies. That gap has consequences. So I am deciding to build towards changing it. I’m starting with a book. But the larger vision is far beyond that. I want to help build software and medical visualization tools that make Black medical representation impossible to ignore. This is not just about diversity aesthetics, this is about accuracy, education, visibility and better healthcare outcomes. One day, I want a Black child studying medicine anywhere on earth to see themselves fully represented in what they learn. And I believe we can build that future.

Again, Elewa was right. Look at the conversations on the TL, we absolutely couldn't have come up with fundamental human rights on our own. Black people have an obsession with tyranny.

State visits by Leaders are not tourism, and diplomacy is not a fashion parade. Every foreign trip undertaken by a government must deliver measurable benefits to the people, including investments, technology transfer, trade agreements, factory expansion, industrial partnerships, and job creation. During President Trump’s recent visit to China, the American delegation reportedly included a few top government officials, and many of the biggest figures in global business and technology: Consequently, huge trade deals worth several billion dollars including about 200 Boeing orders were achieved. The list of the entourage included 1. Donald J. Trump – President of the United States 2. Marco Rubio – Secretary of State 3. Pete Hegseth – Secretary of Defence 4. Elon Musk – CEO, Tesla & SpaceX 5. Jensen Huang – CEO, Nvidia 6. Tim Cook – CEO, Apple 7. Larry Fink – CEO, BlackRock 8. Stephen Schwarzman – CEO, Blackstone 9. Kelly Ortberg – CEO, Boeing 10. Brian Sikes – CEO, Cargill 11. Jane Fraser – CEO, Citigroup 12. Larry Culp – CEO, General Electric 13. David Solomon – CEO, Goldman Sachs 14. Sanjay Mehrotra – CEO, Micron Technology 15.Cristiano Amon – CEO, Qualcomm 16. Dina P. McCormick – President of Meta 17. Ryan McInerney – CEO, Visa 18. Michael Miebach – President, Mastercard 19. Jim Anderson – CEO, Coherent 20. Jacob Thaysen – CEO, Illumina That is how serious nations approach diplomacy, by aligning foreign policy with economic expansion, industrial growth, innovation, and national productivity. I hope that lessons can be learned from these recent visits comparing them with the President of Nigeria’s recent state visit to the United Kingdom. A large entourage of politicians, aides, and government officials travelled, yet Nigerians are still asking a simple question: what exactly did Nigeria bring home? Which factories are coming to Nigeria? What power, technology, manufacturing, agricultural, or industrial agreements were secured? How many direct jobs will this visit create for Nigerian youths? What investments were attracted? What measurable economic outcomes can the ordinary Nigerian point to? The delegation reportedly included: 1. President Bola Tinubu 2. Senator (Mrs) Tinubu 3.12 governors 4.9 ministers 5.7 members of the National Assembly 6. Over 20 senior State House staff 7. Over 30 security personnel 8. Over 10 domestic staff 9. Several supporters and associates It is not enough to ride horses, wear matching uniforms, attend royal banquets, and release glossy photographs. Symbolism without substance cannot feed hungry citizens. Today, Nigeria is in decline, battling serious insecurity, food insecurity, unemployment, a weakened naira, declining industrial productivity, and worsening poverty. At a time when millions of Nigerians struggle daily to afford food and survive economic hardship, every kobo spent on foreign trips must produce tangible national value: investments, factories, jobs, exports, infrastructure, and economic opportunities. Nigeria needs leadership that is focused less on optics and more on productivity; less on ceremony and more on measurable economic results. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Teargas in a Hospital, a Thoughtless Act. I have just read the recent troubling reports of how the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly stormed the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital in a bid to arrest Professor Eyo Ekpe, a professor of cardiothoracic surgery and deputy chairman of the hospital’s medical advisory committee. While I understand and respect the fact that the EFCC, and indeed, all other government agencies have their constitutional rights to do their jobs without interference, the manner in which some of these jobs are carried out is often deeply troubling. Reportedly, the EFCC operatives who stormed the hospital shot some teargas canisters within the hospital premises which sent medical staff and patients running for safety. This thoughtless act greatly compromised the general safety in the hospital environment and further jeopardised the health of the medical personnel and the sick people in the hospital. I have always said that the most fundamental intangible asset upon which any nation functions effectively is the rule of law and order. The disorderliness allegedly demonstrated by the EFCC operatives at the hospital must not be encouraged. Nothing justifies the use of teargas canisters in a fragile hospital environment. Do we not realise that our hospitals are part of our most critical contributors to development? We must also learn to respect the lives and dignity of our citizens. If a Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery is arrested in such a demeaning manner in a hospital environment, what signals are we sending to other medical professionals working hard to keep our health sector afloat? It is reported that Nigeria has only 80 cardiothoracic surgeons serving its 230 million people, and the Prof Eyo Ekpe is the only one in Akwa Ibom State. Let us learn to do better. Let us condemn and eschew the rascality and disorderliness that have continued to characterise some of our public offices and bring in civility in the discharge of our duties. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

RE: Alleged assault, brutalization, arrest, and detention of Professor Eyo Ekpe, DCMAC UUTH Uyo (and others) by suspected operatives of the EFCC: DIRECTIVE TO THE CHAIRMAN , NMA AKWA IBOM STATE AND INDEED ALL OTHER CHAIRMEN OF STATE AND FCT BRANCHES OF NMA This is to officially convey that the, The National Officers Committee (NOC) of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), ably led by Dr (Prof) Afekhide Ernest Omoti, is fully briefed and in full cognizance of the above unfortunate incident affecting some of our members in Akwa Ibom State. The NOC condemns, in the strongest possible terms, such alleged reckless and barbaric behaviors allegedly displayed by operatives of the EFCC within the premises of a public hospital and against medical personnel in the course of their daily duty of rendering life-saving services. The National Officers Committee has begun high-level engagements to get to the root of this matter and seek redress at the highest quarters. This NOC will not tolerate continuing harassment of doctors in any form whatsoever. While at it; the President of NMA hereby directs as follows: 1. That the Akwa Ibom State branch of NMA has the full support of the NMA NOC and the NOC approves of all lawful measures that the branch has taken so far, including any other such lawful actions they may take in the near future, to seek complete redress on the subject matter 2. That henceforth, in any event of unlawful and unwarranted harassment of any doctor in the course of duty elsewhere, the leadership of all State and FCT Branches where such incidents occur must demand the identification and prosecution of any such law enforcement agents 3. That the demand in (2) above must be on the minimum demand for truce at all times It must, however, be noted, by all law enforcement agencies and members of public, that nothing in this directive suggests that law enforcement agents should not carry out their lawful duties, but that such activities must be in accordance with highest ethical standards for law enforcement, rule of law, decorum and common decency expected of modern law enforcement establishments. Thank you Prof Olayinka Atilola National Publicity Secretary MMA
