Trust in government has to be earned, protected, and enforced. But right now, we’re watching billionaires getting tax cuts and prediction markets allowing people with access – potentially even people in the President’s administration – to make money on insider information.

We’ve seen this before. Overseas conflicts don’t stay overseas. They hit home – at the pump, the grocery store, in our daily lives. Americans deserve to know why.

Starting a war is one thing. Ending it, and securing what comes after, is another. And the President doesn’t have a plan for it.

I’m deeply proud of my military service – and no MAGA billionaire is going to change that. But billionaires should not be able to use their wealth to manipulate local media. Not here in Maryland, and not anywhere else in the country.

The use of military force should always be our last option – but Trump isn’t treating it that way.

Real connections, real moments.

As Trump’s war of choice goes on, every day Americans are paying the price. And now he wants to worsen it by taking away people's health care.

I’m grateful today to be at my home church with Bishop Hickman, grateful today to worship with my community, and grateful today to celebrate Jesus. But even as we celebrate, I know many families and communities are facing dark times: The federal administration is working to take away health care to pay for forever wars, trying to use food assistance as a negotiating tool, and planning to make it harder for us to vote. But we in Maryland are proving there is a better way. We’re fighting back and delivering for the people. We’ve worked with the General Assembly to secure over $3 million for projects like the Park Heights Library and Sinai Hospital, delivered over $75 million for housing and community development, and finalized $400 million to revitalize Pimlico and the surrounding community. On this Easter, let us be more Christlike. Let us pray for those who wish us harm. Let us love and lift up our neighbors. And let us keep the faith, no matter the struggle.

The Divine Nine is family, and when family comes together, we organize, mobilize, and move forward together.

As we close out Women’s History Month, I’m reminded of a simple truth: This work does not happen without the women who power it every single day.
