Summoned to explain the backdoor deal, Bell offered a meek confession: “𝐈 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐞.” But her remorse fell flat with furious committee members, who branded the appointment “undue and irregular” and demanded heads roll. “This is not the first time, and we want to make sure this habit doesn’t continue,” MPAC members warned, vowing to refer the matter for further investigative action and insisting that “where there’s a case to answer, those implicated must account.” With the firm already paid and the clock ticking, the question now is whether an apology – and tears – will be enough to shield Bell from serious consequences. #Sedibeng

We were told her mother was South African. Then we were told that she grew up in Soweto. We were also told that she never left SA until she was over 18. A lot of you guys pushed these narratives. You people would easily sell this country.

According to Chidimma, she claims she was born in Soweto at Baragwanath Hospital. However, there is no record of her as a child, the Soweto community does not know her, she has no records of preschool education, and she only appears as an adult. It has also been confirmed that her alleged mother, the Mozambican woman, is in fact a stepmother who welcomed her and helped Chidimma with stolen South African documents. Pictures of Chidimma suggest there was no connection between her and the Mozambican woman until she appeared in South Africa. The Home Affairs Minister must establish how Chidimma and her father entered South Africa and when, as all evidence proves she was born and raised in Nigeria and only came to South Africa at primary school age.
