Ambassador H.E. Jayant N. Khobragade arrived in Madrid today. He was received by officials from the Government of Spain and the Indian Embassy. He commenced his tenure by paying homage to the Statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Plaza Joan Miro, Madrid.

La Embajada organizó una exposición digital titulada “El costo humano del terrorismo” para mostrar el impacto devastador de los actos terroristas en todo el mundo y las medidas adoptadas por la comunidad internacional para combatir el terrorismo. El evento contó con la participación de un grupo diverso de representantes de la ONU, del gobierno español, diplomáticos, académicos, centros de pensamiento, miembros de la diáspora india, así como víctimas del terrorismo. El Embajador, en su intervención, destacó la historia de la India enfrentando el terrorismo transfronterizo, así como las recientes medidas adoptadas por el Gobierno de la India para disuadir las actividades terroristas y los esfuerzos de colaboración internacional de la India para luchar contra esta amenaza.

The Embassy organised a digital exhibition, “Human Cost of Terrorism” to showcase the devastating impact of terror acts across the world and the action taken by international community to combat terrorism. It was attended by a diverse group of UN, Spanish government representatives, diplomats, academicians, think tanks, Indian diaspora as well as victims of terrorism.

The Ambassador in his address highlighted India’s history of facing cross-border terrorism and recent actions taken by Government of India to deter terrorist activities and international collaborative efforts by India to fight against this menace.
