I literally sculpt and model most of my 3D references myself. I MAKE all of this myself. There’s a massive amount of effort put into developing my own helpful tools. AF literally going against efficiency - which is an incredibly powerful skill to have as an artist - is wild

This!. This!!. This!!!. A thousand times this. Digital ID for social media does not make anyone safer. It creates a searchable, linkable record of everything you say, connected to your real identity. It is meant to discourage people from speaking freely. When governments restrict VPNs, they are deciding which parts of the internet you can access, even though you pay for that access. You do not need privacy because you have something to hide. You need it because those in power are always tempted to misuse what they can observe. Once surveillance systems are in place, the real question is not if they will be misused, but when and by whom.

If your country requires digital ID verification to use social media, then you don't live in a free country anymore. If your country want to regulate or ban VPNs, you don't live in a free country anymore.

.... huh??? Literal professional freelance and industry artists use 3D models.. are we so serious right now?? I'll never understand the animosity towards artists that use legitimate tools. This is not doing the work for you, you still need to have a basic understanding of perspective, how to draw hair, clothing, etc. It still takes the same amount of work but with visual assistance. Can we get with it, art community? Seriously, it's been decades.

The RPCS3 team, creators of the top free emulator for playing PlayStation 3 games, has asked people to stop submitting AI-generated slop code changes. They said: “Please stop submitting AI slop code pull requests to RPCS3. We will start banning those who do without disclosing. There are plenty of resources online to learn how to debug and code instead of generating slop that you don’t understand and that doesn’t work.” The team is not against AI tools, but many AI code changes are just AI slop, not even tested, and sent by people who do not understand the code. This wastes the team’s time on this very hard project that needs deep knowledge of PlayStation 3 hardware. Many other free software projects have the same problem.

The video game industry is lobbying against Stop Killing Games California is considering a new law called AB 1921, also known as the Protect Our Games Act. If passed, the bill would apply to paid digital games sold after January 1, 2027. It requires that if a company shuts down the online services needed to play the game normally, it must give players 60 days' notice and either release a patch so the game can still be played or offer buyers a full refund. The bill does not require companies to keep servers running forever. It simply prevents them from making a game unplayable without warning or a solution for those who already paid for it. The Entertainment Software Association, the main group representing video game companies in the United States, is lobbying against the bill. Their arguments are basically the usual ones: >games are licensed, not owned >online services are complicated >third-party licenses expire >security risks exist >this could be hard or expensive to enforce Supporters of the bill, including the Stop Killing Games campaign, say this is basic customer protection because when you buy a game, it should not suddenly stop working with no remedy. The bill gives companies clear options and applies only to future games. A hearing is scheduled for this Thursday in the California Assembly Appropriations Committee. If you are part of an organization in the United States, especially in California, you can submit a letter of support to the committee. This is an important step for better rights for players who buy digital games.

This is fucking monopolistic behavior and should be fucking illegal
International Cyber Digest@IntCyberDigest

‼️🚨 ALARMING: Google now treats privacy as suspicious behavior by default. Users of GrapheneOS, CalyxOS, /e/OS, and other deGoogled Android phones are being locked out of millions of websites unless they install the exact Google Play Services software they deliberately removed. GrapheneOS is recommended by the EFF and used by journalists, lawyers, and activists in high-risk environments. The audience most likely to read Google's data practices and refuse its terms is now flagged as fraudulent for that exact decision. What happened?: ▪️ Google announced "Cloud Fraud Defense" at Cloud Next on April 22-23, 2026, branding it "the next evolution of reCAPTCHA." Existing reCAPTCHA customers were auto-migrated. ▪️ When the system flags traffic as suspicious, the old click-the-bus puzzle is gone. Users get a QR code instead. ▪️ Scanning the QR code requires Google Play Services running on the device. Internet Archive snapshots show this requirement has been live since at least October 2025, silently rolled out for 7 months before anyone noticed. ▪️ No Play Services = no QR scan = locked out. The bigger picture: ▪️ Google already tried this in 2023. It was called Web Environment Integrity (WEI), and it would have let Google decide which devices were "real enough" to access the web. Standards bodies and the public pushed back hard, and Google killed it. Three years later, the same idea is back, just hidden behind a QR code instead of a browser feature. ▪️ reCAPTCHA runs on millions of websites. Every developer who keeps using it is now, by default, telling deGoogled Android users they're not welcome...
