We rolled up our sleeves, walked the fields, and worked side-by-side with the farmer to ensure they’re ready to meet the GAPs requirements. From reviewing practices to providing hands-on guidance, we’re here to make food safety audits a seamless process. LSU AgCenter entomologist Rodrigo Diaz has been named director of the AgCenter’s Center for Research Excellence for the Study of Invasive Species.

We are hosting the Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) Grower Training at the Red River Research Station, 262 Research Station Dr. Bossier City, LA (April 24). After attending the course, participants will be eligible to receive a certificate from the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO). Our first publication of 2024! We have developed and validated a low-cost produce washing system ideal for small-scale fruit and vegetable growers. Our research indicates that washing produce with chlorinated water and aeration significantly reduces and minimizes cross-contamination of bacterial pathogens.
