Today marks the Worm Moon and the release of ‘What Lies Ahead (Bright-Side Mix)’. “The song actually began with a melody that my son Isaac was playing with and I thought, oh, that's really nice - I could build that into something.” Listen now: lnk.to/PGS37

'What Lies Ahead' live in Verona as part of the i/o tour in 2023. The full performance is now available on @YouTube: youtu.be/ApQ3PDyemEM 'It’s a song about inventors and invention. My dad was an electrical engineer, inventor and I saw him go through the frustrations of not only trying to realize an idea, which has to normally go through so many iterations, but then to sell it, both to the people who've got the money and then to the outside world. So, I've always been curious about the creative process and how that applies to inventors.' -pg

'Solsbury Hill' - Peter's debut solo single - was released on this day in 1977. In April 1977, Peter did an interview with Sounds discussing the song... "It's strange that Solsbury Hill is a single because at one point it wasn't even going to be on the album. I'm pleased with it, espeically from a "feel" point of view. It's got a kick time and that 7/4 rhythm works well because it feels like a normal rhythm but isn't quite right..."

Faye Dolle is one of our very talented engineers who has recently taken over the reins on the making of o\i. She is also a wonderful artist in her own right and has been working on her new album in my studio. I really like her songs and the first one 'Built by Design' is coming out today on @StrangerRecords. I love that moment when she drops into the chorus - check it out! - pg lnk.to/fayedolleharbo…

The dark side mix for 'What Lies Ahead' is out now. Peter talks more about the song and the artwork by Judy Chicago in the latest full moon video over on YouTube. "This month’s artwork is from the legendary feminist artist, Judy Chicago and is called ‘Birth Tear / Tear’. Judy Chicago employed over 150 people working to her designs from 1980-1985, all on the subject of birth, as she felt that Western culture had not really tackled birth as a proper subject matter. This particular design was embroidered by Jane Thompson in Houston, Texas and it's a really strong piece."

'In The Big Room' is out now. 'I’d not really taken advantage of the big room as a performance space myself and when, in 2003, the opportunity came up, we grabbed it... we weren’t as polished and rehearsed as we might have been while on tour, but it made for a more awake and edgy performance, as we were fully concentrating on what we were doing.' "I became very fascinated with the idea of the brain computer interface and what consequences that might bring to the world. And this is one of the reasons The Brain Show came up, so that people will have a chance to see some of the realization of these ideas, see how they feel about it, and where we should be leading things."

A #throwback to Peter’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, with this performance with Youssou N'Dour of 'In Your Eyes' ‘In Your Eyes’ was the first thing that I’d recorded with Youssou and it was very important for that reason. It was around the time I was going to Africa and really getting inspired by a lot of the music I was hearing there, particularly rhythmically and vocally. I’ve described Youssou’s voice as “liquid gold” and I think when he comes in singing on that track it’s just a fantastic moment.

'This month we have an artwork created by Tomás Saraceno and twelve spiders who are credited with authorship on this. I think he's a really interesting artist that I think a lot of you would enjoy learning more about. Tomás heard the music and chose this image as something that he thought was appropriate.'
