@iurimatias Is this the equivalent of shouting at a mountain to hear an echo?

@gokulrajan_ @koeppelmann Alright fair enough. Submitting handles is something I heard ppl having to do before for visas already.
That said, It is kinda strange to do this for visa waived travelers. If it starts to need paper work and an application then it's essentially a visa with another name.
English

you don’t submit 5 years of social media posts. you submit your handles which many of us already did in US visa applications long before the current administration.
also, most non–visa-free travelers have always had to provide employment history, addresses, bank statements, property papers, invitation letters, proof of ties, and attend interviews. and it’s hardly reciprocal either.
i’m ofc not justifying this. ideally, we should be opening borders to the free movement of ideas and talent, not locking them down. but this is visa-free travelers encountering a fraction of the scrutiny much of the world has lived with for decades.
English

So if I say bad things about the orange man, I won’t be allowed to enter the US? But don’t worry - just look at the comments here, and many friendly Americans will explain to you why this has nothing to do with free speech restrictions.

The US is proposing that foreign visitors provide their social media history over the last five years to enter the country, including those from Australia, Germany, Japan and the UK who can now enter without a visa. Full story: bloom.bg/493Rmu4 📷️📷️:: David Paul Morris/Bloomberg

@gokulrajan_ @koeppelmann Did they always had to share 5 years of social media posts?
English

@koeppelmann i love how this has become an internet outrage now, while more than half of the world population always had to share these information and a bunch of additional ridiculous document proofs, and no one seemed to care.
