9/We should give much credit to @BillCassidy and @CynthiaMLummis for co-leading this effort. The bill doesn't ask anyone to pick sides on Bitcoin. It asks whether America should control its own critical computing infrastructure or keep buying it from China. The 119th Congress is the best window for this kind of legislation we've had. It won't stay open forever.

8/The certification also unlocks access to four existing federal energy programs — DOE loan guarantees, infrastructure reinvestment financing, smart grid grants, USDA REAP grants. No new agencies. No new spending. Certified miners just get added to the list of eligible entities that already exist. Grid balancing in Texas. Curtailed solar in California. Landfill methane in Ohio. Same certification, same programs.

1/The Mined in America Act proposes 5 things at once: -Secures the energy grid -Cuts methane emissions -Rebuilds domestic manufacturing -Fixes supply chain dependency on China -Funds the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Zero new federal spending. Here's how.

With all due respect to Jack and the team at Square, this type of announcement would have gone crazy back in 2021. It's unfortunate that our industry was slow to ship when we had retail's ear. The people now want stablecoins as payment.

History doesn't repeat, but it rhymes. In 1997, Tim Berners-Lee created HTTP status code '402' for micropayments but credit cards had fixed fees in the tens of cents, so 1-cent txs weren't really viable. a16z just put out a great piece on this. Fast forward 28 years, stablecoins have near-zero fixed transaction costs. AI agents need to pay for millions of penny and sub-penny transactions – compute, data, APIs, services. The infrastructure so many people said was "looking for a problem to solve" now solves the biggest problem on the internet.

Your Bitcoin just became productive capital without becoming someone else's Bitcoin. That's the model.

The real signal that tokenized markets have won? No one really notices. Things just work better, faster settlement, lower friction, broader access. That’s the opposite of how crypto was sold. It's also what maturity looks like.

Bitcoin flipping gold during geopolitical crisis comes as a surprise to no one who understands that 24/7 global settlement with no counterparties always beats waiting for markets to open and vaults to process withdrawals.

With stablecoins, the banks aren't worried about deposit flight. They're worried about profit flight. These numbers are embarrassing.

My bunny Theo crossed over the rainbow bridge tonight. I found him on Craigslist my senior year of college, and he lived to be 11 years old. Rest easy, buddy. I hope you’re eating lots of cherries up there. 🍒♥️

best in class approach: - ethereum gets together and announces a specific, detailed PQ roadmap by 2029 (pq.ethereum.org). sets it as top strategic priority. folds PQ into ongoing roadmap. detailed FAQ. no fear, just action. worst in class approach: - Bitcoin devs deny, gaslight, gatekeep, bury heads in sand, say "the community will decide" and then refuse to take feedback from the community when offered. currently one group working on a sort of quantum thing (edited to remove all actual post quantum crypto) and has received 0 buy-in from top devs. devs point to one or two pieces of research as "work being done, look away". no coherent strategy. no roadmap. everyone knows I'm a bitcoiner and would like bitcoin to win. not saying this to hurt feelings. saying this to spur action.

Elliptic curve cryptography is on the brink of obsolescence. Whether it’s 3 or 10 years; it’s over and we need to accept that The only thing that matters is how quickly blockchain developers recognize that they need to bake in cryptographic mutability into their networks This of course requires an entire reimagining of how these systems work. Today the crypto is hardcoded in. That will have to change ETH people have already figured this out. Everyone else seems to be petrified in fear. Unless something changes quickly ETHBTC will start to reflect the divergence in prioritisation
