Today marks 11 years since Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were taken from us on December 20, 2014. So close to the holidays, their loss reminds us how fragile life is and how quickly everything can change. It is a moment to pause, to reflect, and to give thanks not just for what we have, but for the people who stand the watch so others can make it home. As we move toward Christmas, may we honor their memory by choosing gratitude, by holding our loved ones a little closer, and by never forgetting the sacrifice made in the service of others.
