At this point, all I can do is laugh. Everyone's constantly putting these tweaks out there like it'll be even better. But each will only make the championship format more complicated. Layers on top of layers. The whole thing's about ready to crumble under its own weight. When it does, a full-season title will be the only clear choice. And even if the format doesn't fall to pieces, these changes have gone so far that now NASCAR has nowhere to go but back the way they came. Going from a 1-race to a 4-race championship format? Pretty soon it will be 10 again, then 20, then back to 36. Same thing happened when NASCAR kept expanding the Playoff field from 10 to nearly half the entire field. It's no longer a matter of if we go back to a full-season championship - it's a question of what path the sport will take to get back there. Will it be the long way, or the short way?
