What strikes me in the Kremlin's invasion of Ukraine are the similarities to the Winter War (1939-40) against Finland. However, I'm afraid the end result could be similar as well - but it doesn't need to be. A THREAD.

Big day for Ottawa as this 3 week protest/occupation hopefully comes to an end peacefully. Be kind Ottawans... I think more is at stake here if we push people down at this moment. This isn't over - this is just showing how fragile our democracy and social fabric is.

The map of outages looks even worse now, at 10:15 p.m. About an hour ago, Hydro Ottawa told us 147,000 customers were without power. It's one of the worst storms the utility has ever seen because it's so widespread. #ottnews #ottcity #ottstorm
