Felt kind of weird to make the intentional effort to capture this moment. But, in hindsight, already grateful we did it. I’ve never regretted documenting a moment — but I l’ve often regretted not.

@jayclouse In case it helps, I use the Claude extension in VS Code to do everything for me (non technical noob here)

My OpenClaw usage dropped like a rock when my choices became 1.) paying for the Anthropic API or 2.) using a different model. API was more expensive than expected (i.e. cost-to-value isn’t worth it for a lot of what I’m doing). Different models routinely disappoint. Business hasn’t changed. A lot of fake work and fun novelty was happening in my case and I suspect in a lot of others’ too.

@jayclouse What kind of reading are you into? I’ve been doing a lot of personal growth this year so it’s been stuff like The Way of the Superior Man, The Why Cafe, Zero to One, Waking the Tiger, Intro to IFS.

I’ve been reading a lot more lately, and all the best books come with incredible firsthand stories. Gotta get out there and live more (note to self)

My 11 year old was looking over my shoulder this morning while I was working and said—with a slight tone of disappointment—"Dad, why aren't you using Opus?" Oops, he was right! I wasn't paying attention and Claude had defaulted to Sonnet. That was a quick fix. Then: "And why are you typing? Just use WisprFlow." Ha! There's nothing like being called out by your kids.
