It's not been an easy week for those living in the UAE, with the regional tensions having spilled over. Thankfully, the early chaos has given way to clarity and newfound respect for the nation's leadership. While we all watch for the safety of our loved ones, the empathy and support shown by the country's leadership has been remarkable. It has been less about short-term popularity and more about being humane - protecting citizens & residents alike, and supporting the years of hardwork that everyone has put into making the UAE a true global hub. As someone running a business in the financial services sector, it has been encouraging to see the systems and processes governing us function so well, enabling people to go about their daily lives. In short, it's been business as usual. The role of various institutions and regulators in keeping this balance intact, is something worth appreciating. As we move through the holy month, I hope the days ahead bring renewed peace, stability, and a swift return to full normalcy.

59 new stablecoins launched in 2025; treasury-backed, bank-issued, RWA-linked, regional fiat tokens The breadth reflects a segment that has found its footing Eurodollars once extended dollar liquidity beyond domestic banking hours and correspondent networks Stablecoins are doing the same - with 24/7 settlement finality, programmable compliance, and on-chain auditability The space will crowd, but unlike crypto markets, the trajectory here is largely decoupled from price cycles As financial systems become more automated and agentic, a programmable real-time settlement layer becomes unavoidable - the infrastructure will need to be load-bearing
