@JimPointless My read since term started is that Rubio/Pentagon officials believes a conflict with China over Taiwan is likely in 27/28 so they have been isolating/dismantling their allies preventing a swarm but the don could just be moving because domestic policy is impossible at the moment

@Jimmy_CC_ They've threatened it but Iran was always the king of Nothing Ever Happens. They never dared to do anything because they knew it'd be their deaths. Now they have nothing to lose. The assumption is that we can back out of this, and maybe, but I don't think that'll happen

@JimPointless I mean after the Mullahs took over, it’s essentially been constantly hostile, and has also tired to block oil flow through the strait before during the Iran-Iraq war which we intervened so I don’t think it gets much worse than it already is, they’ve always threatened the strait

@Jimmy_CC_ Yeah Iran is an adversary and them being weakened is within the US's interests, but without regime change it has essentially created a constant hostile state on an important shipping lane which will need to be solved by either backing off or taking territory from Iran itself

@JimPointless Iran is an adversary of the US for many years, degrading their military capabilities I think ends up being very beneficial for the US even if regime change/popular revolution doesn’t occur

When I joined I went in to serve my country not a President, King or Prime Minister but country and love of it...

When an American joins the military they are doing it of their own free will, no one is forcing them. Before a person joins and they sign the dotted line and raise their hand they should read the fine print first that says they can be sent anywhere the President and Pentagon decides to send them and that there is a chance you could die or be injured in training or a real world battle. Thats why I believe our troops are real patriots, they voluntarily picked up arms and are willing to fight no matter where that fight is and they know the risk they are taking. That's why I served for 4 years and got sent to places that were not nice but I knew the cost before I joined. So to any future soldier know what you are risking before you join...
