@mrclarkinc @jbaraldi11 Very true. It seems you think you know a lot.
English

@jimshapiro @jbaraldi11 The greatest program in Was state history vacated state titles for sending kids to private alt ed school to stay eligible. Just crazy irony here.
I know a lot about WAS football because i’m a Wing T guy and followed Bellevue during their run.

41 states understand the value of competition.

The public vs private school debate is raging throughout the high school athletics scene across America 🔥 30 Nevada schools just went independent to avoid private competition. Alabama recently made history with a split. 41 states still combine them. Story: on3.com/high-school/ne…

@mrclarkinc @jbaraldi11 My view is based on my experience in Washington state. That’s my claim. Open enrollment or not, in our state, recruiting happens and it’s not just a private school thing. End of story.
English

@jimshapiro @jbaraldi11 Then if you don’t have open enrollment, that literally makes it impossible to get kids outside your district at a public.
I don’t even think we disagree. I think your opinion is just based on a narrow view. You wouldn’t feel the same if you were here in CA.
English

@mrclarkinc @jbaraldi11 It’s all good by me to agree to disagree. My personal experience is how it works here in washington state. Football and basketball. Neither private or public can “recruit” yet SOME of both do at what seems to be an equal rate. It’s stinks, I don’t like it, it hurts the game.
English

@jimshapiro @jbaraldi11 Privates can recruit legally. Publics can’t.
Most school districts have closed enrollment.
So again, I think you’re just in a completely different reality.
Based on your incomplete information I can see why you have the opinion you have, but you’re missing A LOT.

@mrclarkinc @jbaraldi11 Never said I was trying to comparing football in Washington to Cali.
English

@jimshapiro @jbaraldi11 Every state has some good private schools. But you couldn’t come close to comparing Washington privates to CA privates.
The #1 private in WAS was 13-0 & ranked 177 nationally. Serra here in CA who was 8-6, is ranked 142 NATL
Just no way you can understand what it’s like in CA.
English

@mrclarkinc @jbaraldi11 ? Public schools don’t recruit? It happens every season. All the time. And tuition is free. Easy sell.
English

@jimshapiro @jbaraldi11 Privates can recruit, publics can’t. But u think that’s fair.
So do you think it would make sense for college teams to play in the same league if 1 could offer scholarships & 1 couldn’t?
English

@mrclarkinc @jbaraldi11 FYI. We have plenty of great private schools, mostly Catholic, but they already choose to opt up up. Archbishop Murphy, Odea, Eastside Catholic, etc.
English

@jbaraldi11 @jimshapiro I really think if you don’t play in an area that’s full of Private School powerhouses, it’s just impossible to fully grasp it.
Looks like Jim is in Washington, and they’re def not known for Privates. Their best program was Bellvue who cheated to get to the top.
English

@Top25PublicHSFB Flip that to a few public schools dominating in our state. And good for them. Champions win.
English

@jimshapiro You got it twisted, there are too many states where there is no real competition due to one or two private schools completely dominating the rest of the field.
With your logic, there should be no classifications within a state due to enrollment, is that what you think?
English

@jimshapiro Small schools in NV still all competing together!
