The MLBPA made another counter-proposal to MLB today, focusing on the Draft. Noteworthy: - Maintain a 20-round draft - HS and JUCO maintain eligibility - Eligibility for ALL second-year players - Bonus pools expand for playoff teams and flexible bonus pools for lower revenue teams. Also proposed: Move the Draft back to June. @EvanDrellich first on this.

Turns out, by my count anyway, the Mariners spent over 99.8% of their Draft Bonus Pool. So no pocketing cash, no weird "cheap" approaches. Just spent it a little differently than normal.

Another infielder with a great swing, Florida SS Juan Diaz has been one of my favorites. True switch-hitter with quick hands, bat speed, and excellent B2B skills from both sides. Absolutely flies on the basepaths, bouncy actions in the dirt. Day 1 follow next year.
