Imagine trying to protect your sister from the fate of mikos, only to push her away and make her resent you not just for that but also for becoming the very thing you warned her against and burning your entire future away. Gyokuro and hiyuki are so well written. This sequence might be my favorite in the entire game the music, the art, the representation everything is AMAZING.

if you think or observe closely, they’re both POLAR OPPOSITES OF EACH OTHER. denia’s void heart literally makes a contrast to aemeath in which she has an intact heart. aemeath’s unwavering will to be responsible as the savior of lahai–roi contrasts denia’s coerced experiment role of being a destined resonator for the threnodian.
aemeath was able to receive the help she needed. as for denia, she still clinged desperately of what’s left of hope despite the void her heart has to go against her forced fate or purpose she’s supposed to built to be.
