@DrNeilStone Medications keep patients out of the hospital, the most expensive form of care. If anything, he should be fostering compliance to medications indicated for patients’ conditions.

RFK Jr wants doctors to get paid to get patients off medications That's a TERRIBLE idea And a dangerous one It's a conflict of interest I get paid the same regardless of whatever I do or do not prescribe. I do what's best for the patient. Period.

@MalcolmBacchus @oliverburdick Thank you for that. I used the wrong word to express my thought. I meant that nature recycles pathways and blueprints from species to species - if they work, nature tends to find other ways to use the same systems.

@josephgulfo @oliverburdick It isn't. It is incredibly inefficient. Photosynthesis for example manages to convert about 2% of the light energy falling on leaves into energy used by the plant. Even solar panels can do 20% plus.

Louisiana is in its worst whooping cough (pertussis) outbreak in 35 years. 368 cases this year, including two infants who have died. Since last fall, 63 have been hospitalized, 65% infants. Most hospitalized were not up-to-date on vaccines.

The DTaP/Tdap vaccines protect against whooping cough, as well as tetanus and diphtheria, which also remain dangerous threats to children. These vaccines are safe, effective, and life-saving. Talk to your doctor about any questions you may have.

Today we’re taking long-overdue action to rein in pharmaceutical ads. For too long, misleading ads have distorted the doctor-patient relationship and driven costly, inappropriate care. Our actions will encompass online pharmacies promoting drugs with no mention of side effects, and paid social media influencers advertising drugs.

"Dewey was great offensive player and one of the greatest right fielders`s to play the game; there’s no doubt in my mind that he belongs in the HOF" Carl Yastrzemski Dwight Evans is the only player in history to win eight Gold Gloves while also leading his league for a DECADE in home runs and all of MLB in extra base hits and runs created. Evan’s is one of just 13 players to have at least 2,400 hits, 1,450 runs, 1,375 walks, 1,375 RBI, 480 doubles and 385 home runs. Of those 13, Evans is the only player previously eligible, not to have been enshrined in Cooperstown. Dwight Evans has the same OPS+ as Rickey Henderson (127), a higher one than Ernie Banks, Johnny Bench, Yogi Berra, Paul Molitor and Kirby Puckett. Dwight Evans’ WAR (61.8), is higher than Andre Dawson, Harmon Killebrew, Willie Stargell, Billy Williams and Dave Winfield. In my HOF!!!

@DrNeilStone Drugs keep people out of hospitals, and enable more quality and quantity of life, period. They are the simplest line items to spot on an expense ledger, so easy targets. No one pays list prices - that is an artifact of a convoluted payment system. GLP-1’s are miracle drugs!

This is the thing There is no doubt that Big Pharma make obscene profits and HAVE behaved badly But that doesn't mean that all they do is evil. Pharma companies make life saving drugs. We need them. Better than making a fortune from say - selling guns?

“Big Pharma is the devil” When people continue to spew such vitriol — consider that there are many people that rely on pharmaceuticals to be able to live another day 💉

@matthewherper @Biotech2k1 This is not a good thing, Matt. 90% of these letters are “issues” that have been addressed (asked and answered) over the years of drug development that predate the filing. Drug development / FDA interaction is highly nuanced. This is just wrong policy.

I want to take a moment to note this: FDA Commish Marty Makary's move to make FDA rejection letters (known as complete response letters or CRLs) is a very good thing both for investors, who will be lied to less, and to drug developers, who will have a much better idea of what other mistakes people are making. Even with so much redacted, I still think that's a positive step. I do wish this administration would space it's news announcements out a bit.

@medcitynews This is not a good policy. These letters are rife with “issues” that are no longer issues and will not serve to improve the process. Drug development and FDA interactions are highly nuanced. Silly and misguided policy in the name of “transparency.”
