Welcome news from @deptinfra Minister @LizK1988 that the MOT waiting time has decreased from 100+ in May 2024 to just 30 days in 2025. The waiting times caused serious disruption and cost some motorists money but hopefully we're on a better track now.

Well that’s a wrap folks. Although I wasn’t elected this time it has been a great experience and I loved getting around the area and having the craic with you. Anyone who knows me will know that I will continue to fight for our families, workers and community as a Councillor and I remain determined to effect that change that is badly needed. Thank you to every single person who voted for me and who voted for our message of change. Thank you to my family and Fionnghuala for all their support over the past 4 weeks. I am waiting for my comrades Ruairí Ó Murchú to be re-elected and Joanna Byrne to be elected in Drogheda and can promise they will be fine representatives of the County. I look forward to continuing to work with them here at local level. It has been a blast and I enjoyed every minute of it. ✊✊

Johnny Guirke is a champion for Meath, for its workers, and families struggling with a housing crisis and the crippling cost of living It’s been a real pleasure to campaign alongside him in #MeathWest If you’ve a vote in today’s election, use it 🗳️

Chatting to an elderly couple of Fianna Fáil voters in Oldcastle, Co Meath today who were disgusted at Micheál Martin’s comments yesterday on the north Can’t help but think there is a widening gulf between FF grassroots & Martin’s sneering attitude to northern nationalists

I’ve never formally had political party membership so to speak - but I have always voted for left parties. Finally decided to sign up and pay for membership to @sinnfeinireland They’re the only party in this country I’ve any faith for change in. It’s time for a new government.

After going door to door and receiving phone calls on the campaign trail, I think a few things need to be clarified. I absolutely support the concerns and worries of local people regarding the greenway. I support and understand those who are opposed to it. I do NOT support CPOs or the greenway affecting local farms or homes. If the greenway can not be achieved without the agreement of all the affected landowners, it should not be built, in my opinion. Myself and other councillors organised the public meetings to ensure people knew about the proposed plans and were making their submissons for or against these plans to the council. I made a submission myself and have helped people make theirs. As councillors it is our job to represent ALL local people, for or against the greenway, regardless of our personal opinions. I was the first councillor to request that all submissions be answered, and I am delighted that this will go ahead, with answers due in the new year. My party colleagues and I made multiple requests to meet the Protect Cooley Peninsula group, via email. They were unable/unwilling to meet us before the general election, and as a group, we felt we couldn’t sign the declaration without this meeting taking place. I'm awaiting their response. This is the stage we are at, asking the community for their opinions and replies to be given. If you would like to discuss your concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will once again confirm I am not in favours of CPOs. You can also listen to me speaking about the greenway on the Dundalk FM debate from yesterday. mixcloud.com/DundalkFMMixcl…

It is dizzying to see the mental gymnastics required to avoid the fact that Ireland’s largest ever haul of crystal meth was being shipped into the country by a Fine Gael bag man The financial backer of the party was even being groomed as a General Election candidate by Fine Gael

A Kerry businessman has pleaded guilty before the Special Criminal Court to drug importation and facilitating an organised crime gang in relation to the largest-ever haul of crystal meth in the history of the State rte.ie/news/2024/1014…
