@ThunderLevin I agree, although #LordOfTheRings starts with a 10-minute voice over by Galadriel setting up the world. I noticed that the last time I watched it am though, “Maybe sometimes it just better to say it all up front and get on with it!”

A suggestion to fantasy filmmakers and screenwriters: avoid the massive world-building exposition dump at the beginning of your story. Take a lesson from #GameOfThrones and #LordOfTheRings. Just start telling your story and let us learn the world as we go.
