Yesterday, NYC showed up for something special. 📷📷 At NYC Aging’s Plant-Forward Cook-Off, 8 chefs from Older Adult Centers across the city brought bold flavors, rich cultural traditions, and serious talent—proving that plant-forward food can be deeply rooted.

Yesterday, 3/27/26 FDNY EMT James Kim visited the KCS Flushing Older Adult Center to deliver an informative presentation to our older adult participants on emergency preparedness.

On Tuesday (3/24/2026) and Wednesday (3/25/2026), the KCS Workforce Development Team hosted the first basic and advanced digital literacy workshops of the CEC "Empowered with Opportunities" Implementation program supported by Civic Engagement Commission (CEC, @nyccec).

Wednesday March 26th, the KCS PHRC and MHC teams participated as exhibitors at the SHARE Cancer Care Conference at Baruch College, connecting with cancer survivors and partner organizations to share our cancer-prevention efforts.

KCS was proud to co-host a community conversation in partnership with Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum and University of Chicago, creating a space for community members to share their perspectives on identity and representation in the United States.

Look forward to our next free Mammogram Screening on Saturday May 30th! The PHRC Cancer Prevention Team will be assisting women in receiving their annual mammogram screenings at the KCS Community Center in Bayside.

March 22, the PHRC team participated in the 6th Annual Women’s History Month Celebration in the Rochdale Village Senior Center/Grand Ballroom in Jamaica, Queens.

On March 21, in recognition of Women’s History Month, the KCS team attended the Women’s Month Wellness Event hosted by Shanel Thomas-Henry at the Elmcor Center in Queens.

Yesterday, Police Officer John Vlaovich from the 109th precinct Crime Prevention Unit, came to KCS Flushing Older Adult Center addressing issues on Elder Abuse, crime prevention, and safety awareness to older adults.

On March 20, 2026, at 11:30 AM, a food distribution event was held in front of Brooklyn D&A Adult Day Care Center (723 60th St, Brooklyn, NY) in collaboration with CM Susan Zhang (District 43). 300 food pantry packages were distributed to local residents in the community.

On Thursday, March 19, 2026, the KCS Workforce Development Team, in observance of AmeriCorps Week, honored the hard work of our volunteers and held a emergency preparedness go bag party.

Wednesday March 18th, Jerry led an engaging iCAN presentation with community members, providing valuable information about available services and supports. Participants actively completed the Social Care Network (SCN) questionnaire and asked thoughtful questions.

On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the KCS Workforce Development Team held a SCSEP Quarterly Meeting for both Korean-speaking and Chinese-speaking participants involving various trainings, workshops, surveys, and recruitment.
