Last evening at around 20:30 hrs, during a joint checking operation by SST and FST teams under Park Street Police Station, a vehicle was intercepted and unaccounted cash amounting to ₹6,96,485 was recovered from an individual. Additionally, foreign currency comprising 427 US Dollars, 25 Dirhams, and 1 Riyal was also seized. All items have been seized in accordance with the prescribed SOP. Acting on a complaint regarding a fraudulent loan racket, Park Street Police Station arrested six accused persons involved in a criminal conspiracy. The accused allegedly impersonated employees of a reputed finance company and used forged loan approval documents to cheat multiple individuals and misappropriate funds. During the investigation, 32 keypad mobile phones, multiple SIM cards, and other incriminating documents were seized. Investigation is underway.

In a raid conducted this morning, the Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Detective Department detained three persons, including one woman, from the eastern flank footpath of Strand Road near the main gate of Eden Police Camp under Maidan Police Station area, for possession of over 20 kg (commercial quantity) of suspected gaanja. Acting on credible intelligence, Uttar Kashipur Police Station under Bhangar Division conducted a late-night raid at Raghunathpur Khalpar on 09.04.2026, leading to the successful apprehension of an arms dealer. সাইবার চোরদের খপ্পরে ২৩ লক্ষ টাকার বেশি, উদ্ধার প্রায় সবটাই ‘অমুক (রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত) ব্যাঙ্ক থেকে বলছি। আমাদের একটা খুব ভালো পেনশন স্কিম ছিল। দুর্দান্ত রিটার্ন। শুনবেন?’ এই ধরনের কল আজকাল প্রায়শই আসে মূলত বয়স্কদের কাছে, যাঁরা হয়তো ডিজিটাল জগতের ঘাঁতঘোত সম্পর্কে পুরোপুরি ওয়াকিবহাল নন। গত মাসের ৮ তারিখে এমনই এক কল পেয়ে নিজের ফোনে একটি মোবাইল অ্যাপ – পরিভাষায় ‘রিমোট অ্যাক্সেস অ্যাপ’ – বসিয়ে ২৩ লক্ষ টাকারও বেশি খুইয়ে বসেন এক বয়স্ক মহিলা। ঘটনাটি জানতে পেরে তৎক্ষণাৎ ন্যাশনাল সাইবার ক্রাইম রিপোর্টিং পোর্টাল-এ অভিযোগ দায়ের করেন তাঁর পরিবার, তদন্তে নামে আমাদের সাউথ সাবার্বান ডিভিশনের সাইবার শাখা। সাইবার অপরাধের তদন্তে প্রধান হাতিয়ার অসম্ভব ধৈর্য, এবং ঠাণ্ডা মাথায় অজস্র প্রযুক্তিগত খুঁটিনাটি বিশ্লেষণ করার ক্ষমতা। কয়েক সপ্তাহের লাগাতার পরিশ্রমে একরকম অসাধ্য সাধন করেছেন সার্জেন্ট সঞ্জয় সাহা এবং তাঁর টিম। উদ্ধার হয়েছে ২১ লক্ষ ৪০ হাজার টাকা। বাকিটা ফেরত পাওয়ার আশা এখনও ছাড়েননি সঞ্জয়রা। তদন্ত চলবে।
