@JinksMarmaduke No local knowledge, but have had a little bet on Tories 150-199 at 9.2. Low engagement and regression to the mean are surely related contingencies to some degree

Anyone had a bet on the election? Any local knowledge which might throw up an ‘odd’ constituency result?

@dsquareddigest (More seriously the lack of standards does underline your point, which I completely agree with, that the GC are coming miles out of their ground here)

@dsquareddigest Ta. A crumb of begrudging respect that Davies took those paid-for days out at Cheltenham and went 'You know what I actually want? Each-way Lucky 15s on novice hurdles'

as conspiracy theories go it is a bit pathetic sharks, but after notoriously allowing MPs to make favourable each way back for years (which gets normal people's accounts closed down) it seems a bit off that the bookmakers are going Full Majesty Of The Law on election date bets

This Wednesday supplementary stage on the Ascot Chase is a new thing, isn't it? Given the Betfair market isn't encouraging about Fakir or Ahoy Senor running, seems like an opportunity missed given it's 5k in, with 10k for fourth

@jamesaknight OK. You might know better with any bets you're seeing. Purely from prices I thought 'in the balance' was a reasonable conclusion

@bigpablo42 I hear you, although staying chases are holding up better than most (see 31 in the two races at Warwick). The trend in 2m chases is definitely downwards. Just don't think the horses are there

@keithmelrose Never felt so disinterested in racing as I have been these last 12 months. It's dying on its arse and nobody with any influence seems to care enough to do anything about it.

Easy to snipe once decs are out, of course, but I'm struggling to see where the idea of restricting the Edward Courage Cup to novices came from. Doesn't immediately chime with the Pattern changes made for this season. Result's a match race for 20k

Cancel that. He was declared for the lost Haydock qualifier on Dec 6, so it's the 'qualified horses' list that's out

Rules on Racing Admin also state you need to have run in a stayers' vets' race in 2023. He's only run in a middle-distance one

Had been hoping to see Richmond Lake in the December Gold Cup entries. He's still on 142 and it could end up a smallish field. 14s will more than do
