My 14 year old son just built his own PC. No help from me, not even with money. He chose all of the components himself with money he earned working for my company. I asked him how he figured it all out, and of course, he said YouTube. He showed me amazing resources like PCPartPicker I didn’t even know existed. It was crazy to watch him delicately piece this thing together, taking care for it unlike other things we just bought him before. So good. And now he’s got a new skill, and more confidence to take to the next thing. And now he says, “Time to play lethal company with the boys” 😅

Not to be a Halloween Scrooge but I don’t like that everyone uses stencils to carve their pumpkins now. Jack-o-lanterns are supposed to be extremely unimpressive. You should have a vision in your head and then not be able to execute it. That’s what Halloween is all about.

Pale Blue Dot is a photo of Earth that was taken by the Voyager 1 space probe in 1990 from a distance of about 6 billion kilometers (3.7 billion miles) as it was leaving our solar system. This is what Carl Sagan said about the photo: "Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it, everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives.
