Primary writing on England is taught round applying grammar rather than composition and effect… children bung in grammar rather than creating an effect. It makes writing dull. A stronger link with reading helps and shared composition. Being writers.

At Albright Plus our KS1 Class have designed, made, packaged and evaluated their own chocolate bars as part of their DT. 🍫 This particular one is mint, marshmallow and biscuit flavour. #thisisAP #primaryAP #engagement

I've spent my week in London working with the kids from Phoenix Arch school, helping them to create large-scale sculptures of sea creatures. All of the kids here have additional needs, they've helped one another, worked hard, and enjoyed themselves. 🙂 darrellwakelam.com

More sessions at Clifton Community School, Rotherham. Thanks to students and teachers for the warm welcome. During the sessions, I shared insights from research on the narratives I create to raise awareness about county lines exploitation and related criminal activities. I also highlighted the national initiative that has given young people an opportunity to express themselves through poetry and lyrics, and recited some poems. The students were invited to submit work. A special thank you to the South Yorkshire Police Child Exploitation Teams for commissioning my work and acknowledging its effectiveness. @SY_VRU @YHROCU
