Good morning from The Hague 🇳🇱 While Europe tries to cripple putin’s war economy with sanction after sanction, Dutch brand Spar keeps opening new supermarkets in russia. Hundreds of stores. New openings in moscow this year. Sanctioned goods on the shelves. @SPARInt claims they “can’t” terminate the old licensing contracts. Experts strongly disagree. 
Ending the licences would:
• Stop brand misuse & normalising aggression
• Align with Dutch government policy (“unacceptable to do business in russia”)
• Be fully possible under current EU law that better protects companies against russian claims @ThijsReuten - time to push harder on this.‼️ Dutch brands should not profit from this war. This must stop. Pls share. Have a great day everyone. Keep supporting Ukraine 🇺🇦

Trump on Greenland: "That's what hurt my relationship with NATO. Because Greenland doesn't help Denmark. Denmark doesn't spend money to really help Greenland, but it's an important part for the United States. And it's surrounded by China ships and Russian ships. Greenland should be controlled by the United States, not by Denmark. We could remove all our soldiers out of Europe. They better be careful."

One thing I particularly appreciate about Macron is that he challenges the populists narrative that everything is falling apart. Too often, leaders of liberal democracies chase populists. Too rarely, they tell their own story of progress and success. Liberal democracies must learn to tell their story of progress again.

Wie verlogen kann man sein? RuZZland 🇷🇺 behauptet, die Ukraine 🇺🇦 würde "unschuldige Studenten" in einem College in Starobelsk angreifen. Dabei zeigen sie selbst ganz stolz, wie sie genau dieses College als Militärbasis für Drohnen-Piloten und zur Rekrutierung missbrauchen. Die Studenten werden hier als Schutzschild instrumentalisiert und Angriffe auf ukrainische Zivilinfrastruktur und Zivilisten werden mit sowas gerechtfertigt. Canada strongly condemns Russia’s launch of large-scale missile and drone attacks on civilian targets in Kyiv tonight. For more than four years since Russia’s illegal invasion, it has greatly underestimated the courage, determination, and strength of the Ukrainian people — even as Putin’s regime has relentlessly bombed Ukrainian energy infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and homes. We call on Russia to immediately cease these strikes and end this illegal war of aggression. They prolong human suffering and do nothing to change the fact that Russia will lose this war. Canada will continue working closely with international partners to secure a just and lasting peace for Ukraine and Europe.
