There is absolutely zero reason why 007 should be a culture war game.

So far from what I’ve played of 007 First Light, I would say the beginning is rough. It takes a little too long with its training missions, getting you to know Bond’s little group of other agent friends. But once you reach the hotel mission, the one you’ve seen in trailers where you’re given free rein to walk around, explore, do the Hitman-esque gameplay, the game gets good finally. I’m currently in the mission set in Africa, it’s very intricate. It’s like a hub of interactive things you can do. You need $100k to get into this auction. And the way you get that money is up to you. There’s tons of different ways, fight club, stealing crypto wallets, winning at the shooting range, breaking into a painting sell, it’s all up to you. So what I’ll say so far is the beginning is rough, now it’s good. IMO it feels like the game would be better if it started with like 1 training mission then directly went into the hotel mission & skipped the nonsense. But it is what it is, I’ll keep going. But I’m liking how intricate the gameplay design is. Bond so far is fine too, he’s not emasculated or anything, he’s definitely the strong male hero he’s supposed to be, so far anyway.

@KrazIIvan_ I'm not sure I even got out of it, I did a bunch of quests early on, the fish, killed some guys to clear a farm out. A few other things, I went exploring a bit. Then I went to that quarry, spent what seemed like hours just killing people on repeat and I quit out of the game :(

@mikeypine I was complaining about long tutorials in another post and then I think how I spent 10 hours in the CD tutorial...😅

@KrazIIvan_ Unfortunately CD didn't resonate with me, I think I might be very much over the RPG side of things, like you said they just take too much time :(

It seems like the vast majority of people calling 007: First Light "woke" have not even played the game. Kinda the same thing with THE ODYSSEY. Are we beginning to see a pattern here? Is there a anti-"woke" click-bait industrial complex that is supported by X algos?

@mikeypine Me as well but I also consider time. I bought Crimson Desert and really like it, but I just don't have the time to give it what it deserves.

@KrazIIvan_ I literally have no trust in anyone reviewing a game anymore. It literally comes down to, do I have the money to spend on this? Yes, I will buy it. I kind of want to try but I'm not spending that much money on what looks very average.
