Senior Counsel, @DonaldBKipkorir , we must respectfully report that after exhaustive investigations, all “suspect monkeys” have exercised their constitutional right to disappear into the vast witness protection programme otherwise known as the park 😄. On a serious note, at Kenya Wildlife Service we are fully committed to justice for both man and monkey—but in this particular case, the evidence trail seems to have leapt from the forest straight into a matrimonial courtroom. Given your towering reputation in dispute resolution, we humbly (and urgently!) request that you step in—not to prosecute the monkey—but to mediate the “domestic wildlife conflict” at hand. This one appears less about primates of the wild and more about primates of the household. Should the monkeys resurface, we assure you they will be treated as persons of interest. Until then, Counsel, the brief is yours 😄

Have always said Ongata Rongai is an alien place! A brother who lives there confirms its oddity whilst crying for help in a matrimonial entanglement. Instead of @KWSKenya confirming a brother’s very plausible exculpatory explanation, KWS throws him under the bus & chooses to absolve the suspect monkey! Very unfair for KWS to choose a monkey over a brother in distress! My friend, Erastus Kanga, the KWS DG should resolve the matter & arrest the monkey!

Mara Elephant Project’s Alpha Team, alongside @KWSKenya, carried out a joint foot patrol in the Mau Forest as part of ongoing efforts to protect this high-risk landscape. During the operation, the team removed 69 wire snares potentially saving dozens of animals from injury or death. This area is known for high levels of snaring, driven largely by the demand for bushmeat, with antelope species being the primary targets. Moving on foot through challenging terrain, the team works on the frontlines to detect and remove these hidden threats before they can cause harm. As a high-risk zone, the Mau Forest remains a priority for regular patrols. Through this continued presence, the team is not only protecting wildlife, but also helping to safeguard the broader ecosystem and disrupt ongoing illegal activity.

Rongai is not a real place , A monkey took my neighbor’s bra from the hanging line and put it in my wardrobe. I am finding it hard to explain to my girlfriend that no girl has visited my place. @KWSKenya please do something about this 🙏. I am under siege right now.

𝐄𝐍𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐌 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 𝐏𝐀𝐘𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 The Director General of the Kenya Wildlife Service, Prof. @ErustusKanga , today joined tourism industry players and key stakeholders for the official launch of TouristTap. The event was officiated by the Cabinet Secretary for the @Min_TourismKE , Hon. @rebecca_miano. TouristTap is a forward-looking innovation developed by Craft Silicon in partnership with KCB Group and Visa Inc.. Beyond simplifying payments for visitors, the platform is designed to uplift everyone within Kenya’s tourism ecosystem—from large tourism establishments to small-scale traders. With this solution, visitors can move seamlessly through their travel experience—from arrival to accommodation, park entry, and even everyday purchases—without the common barriers associated with cash handling or payment limitations. It reflects a shift towards a more connected, efficient, and inclusive tourism environment. The application enables international travellers to make secure, contactless payments directly through their smartphones, removing the need for cash exchanges, ATMs, or local mobile connectivity. This not only enhances convenience but also ensures that local businesses can fully participate in and benefit from the tourism economy. Tourism continues to be a major pillar of Kenya’s economy, contributing approximately KSh 500 billion in 2025 and supporting over 1.6 million livelihoods nationwide. As Kenya continues to showcase its world-class wildlife, landscapes, and rich cultural heritage, equal emphasis is being placed on delivering a modern and seamless visitor experience. To support ongoing conservation efforts, visit kwspay.ecitizen.go.ke/donate and contribute directly to the protection of Kenya’s wildlife and ecosystems. #WildlifeConservation #ThrivingWildlifeForever

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 🦒 Did you know Morgan’s journey began at just two weeks old? She was rescued in 2017 after being found all alone by community members in Naivasha - too young to survive on her own. Orphaned and vulnerable, Morgan was brought to the Nairobi Animal Orphanage, where her second chance began. Giraffes require intensive care in their early months, and Morgan was hand-raised for nearly two years before she could be weaned; a journey that demanded round-the-clock dedication. Today, she roams the forest at the Nairobi Safari Walk, where visitors can spot her gracefully browsing through the trees - strong, calm, and thriving. Behind that calm stroll is daily care that includes: ➡️ Half a bale of lucerne ➡️ Pellets & horse cubes ➡️ Routine medication & tick control ➡️ Natural browsing on forest leaves 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 💚 Help us continue giving Morgan and others like her the care they need to grow, heal, and thrive. Your support goes toward: ➡️ Specialized Feeding: Nutrition for growing and rescued wildlife ➡️ Medical Care: Vaccination and disease prevention ➡️ Rehabilitation: Preparing orphaned animals for safe, enriched lives Join the mission today: 👉 kwspay.ecitizen.go.ke/donate #SupportWildlifeConservation #NairobiSafariWalk #TunzaMaliYako

𝐀 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐝. The Kenya Wildlife Service confirms the death of an 11 year old male lion, Kiminati, from the Masai Mara ecosystem. The lion is believed to have preyed on a baby hippo, triggering a fierce retaliatory attack from the mother. Despite the resilience lions are known for, the injuries sustained were severe and ultimately fatal. This incident is a powerful reminder of the realities of life in the wild. Survival in nature is never guaranteed—every hunt carries risk, and even the most dominant predators can become vulnerable in an instant. Encounters between powerful species such as lions and hippos are often intense and unpredictable, reflecting the delicate balance that governs our ecosystems. As we reflect on this loss, we are reminded that wildlife faces constant challenges—from territorial battles and dangerous prey to environmental pressures. It is a testament to the raw, untamed beauty of nature, where every day is a fight for survival. KWS remains committed to monitoring and protecting our wildlife, while allowing natural processes to take their course in these ecosystems. #WildlifeConservation

Meet the Rothschild’s Giraffe, the most endangered of the three giraffe subspecies found in Kenya. 🦒 You can identify it by its lighter coat and the absence of markings on its lower legs, giving it that distinctive “white stocking” look. But did you know? 🤔 A giraffe’s spots are like human fingerprints, no two are exactly the same. And just like us, they have seven cervical vertebrae—just much longer. Every safari, every visit helps keep these species thriving in the wild. Protecting them means protecting a truly unique part of Kenya’s wildlife heritage. Have you ever spotted one in the wild? Tell us where 👇 📍 Lake Nakuru National Park #JiachilieInKenyaParks #ExploreExperienceConserve

𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 This morning at around 0800hrs, a hyena was found feeding on dumped poultry remains in Kamenu Location, Thika West Sub-County, Kiambu County (near Thika). Members of the public are strongly warned not to handle or consume any meat from the animal. Hyenas are scavengers and may carry dangerous diseases such as Rabies, Anthrax, Brucellosis, and foodborne infections like Salmonella infection and E. coli infection.
