Actually it looks like a third world country, and there was a shooting in this crowd minutes after this was taken because that’s what happens in NYC whenever crowds like this gather. Nobody cares though. We just kinda expect violence and lawlessness now.

What most people don't understand is that just because you don't hear about a shooting, or because it never makes the news, doesn't mean it didn't happen. If the public knew the full truth about what's happening on the streets of NYC, many would be shocked. Ever since NYPD radio transmissions went encrypted, we're operating on a need-to-know basis. Add in the constant "crime is down" narrative, and it's become even harder to get information out to the public. The reality is that crime reporters are no longer welcomed by some people in government. Asking questions, reporting the facts, and shining a light on what's happening in our communities has made us the enemy in the eyes of some. And God forbid a crime reporter questions the narrative or simply says they don't believe crime is down. The moment that happens, some people start panicking, losing their minds, and scrambling to discredit anyone who dares to ask questions. A free press is supposed to hold those in power accountable, not repeat talking points. We'll keep reporting, and we'll keep asking questions.
