Today I spent a few hours talking to New Lenox Providence HS Head Coach Tyler Plantz about his exceptional program and all of his rising stars. One of the premier programs in the state of Illinois. The program has a very bright future as does the Catholic league.

Coach Lou Holtz did a commercial back in 2013 for Catholics Come Home welcoming fall away Catholics back to the Church. In the commercial he tied Faith to Football in an amazing way! RIP Lou ☘️💚🙏🏼

According to reports from MPEA records and Cook County, the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place (operated by Hyatt Hotels under a Pritzker-family-linked management deal) received over $180M in taxpayer-funded renovations/infrastructure upgrades from 2011-2025 via special hotel taxes (incl. $8.8M in FY2023 and $59.5M approved Dec 2024). Pritzker appoints nearly half the MPEA board. Plus, a Dec 2025 Cook County Board of Review cut its assessed value by $150M, shifting ~$700 extra per avg Chicago homeowner in property taxes.

We need a new QUARTERBACK in Illinois. Governor Pritzker-who eats like a bear but throws like a girl-just turned the ball over. Outplayed by the governor next door, our beloved CHICAGO BEARS are about to move to Indiana. This would have never happened when I was governor!

It was always destiny that Lou Holtz be the head football coach at Notre Dame. As he tells it, even when he excepted the job at Minnesota it was on the promise that if Minnesota excepted a bowl bid and Notre Dame came calling he was free to go but only to Notre Dame. No one expected him to turn around Minnesota as fast as he did. Minnesota excepted a bowl bid after just his second season and a week later Notre Dame came calling, but it didn’t come without stipulations as Fr Joyce told him “we don’t take transfers here. We don’t redshirt athletes. We don’t have an athletic dorm. We don’t have an athletic table. We’re gonna play the most difficult schedule we can find and we expect to win. The other thing we don’t change and it’s nonnegotiable is we have a policy that the head coach can’t make more than the President at Notre Dame.” Lou Holtz responded with “that doesn’t bother me.” He excepted the position and the rest is history! ☘️

My son and I had a great conversation this morning at breakfast. "Dad, why is my sister named Rose?" he asked. "Because your mother loves roses," I replied. "Thanks Dad, " he said. "No Problem 2010 Luke Harangody," I said.

After watching the first 5-10 minutes of Marcus Freeman on College Gameday, I have completely changed my mind on his decision to be a part of College Gameday. Originally, I didn’t understand why he’d go on College Gameday and thought it was pretty dumb. But here’s the thing, Marcus Freeman is just so dang likable and such a great spokesperson for Notre Dame that if a major network is going to let you show that off for free for 2 hours in front of millions of people, you take advantage of that opportunity. Marcus Freeman is one of the biggest stars in college football and when you are making a phone call or house visit to a 16/17 year old elite high school recruit, that MATTERS.
