@atranscendedman Most people with Long COVID or ME/CFS haven’t been checked with speciality testing for chronic bacterial infections like Bartonella, Babesia, and Borrelia, and numerous false positives could occur without speciality testing

I’m talking to the NIH next week about what it’s like to live with Long COVID. What’s the one thing people still don’t understand and the part that really needs to be seen and said out loud?

@SalvMattera Agree about the nerve component, but what is the root cause? V persistence? Then how come some folks have persistence w no symptoms? Increasingly I'm of the belief we're missing widespread bact infections because nobody has looked w their eyes at the blood. Need periphreal smears

Increasingly, I'm of the belief that all Long COVID symptoms originate from brain and nerve damage. Even things that seem as diverse as post COVID diabetes and post-exertional malaise have the same driver: nerve damage

A large U.S. study of more than 11,000 school-aged children found that those with long-lasting symptoms after COVID-19 were more likely to experience difficulties with daily functioning and to miss significant amounts of school due to illness. long-covid.org/how-long-covid…

Chris Stubenrauch is a scientist who has been living with Long COVID since 2024. He started @longcovidorg this month to make research easier to understand by providing clear, plain-language summaries of newly published scientific studies. It's a great idea and great site. Thank you so much, Chris!

A new theory suggests some viral infections may push blood vessel cells into a long-term stress state, offering a possible explanation for the lasting symptoms seen in ME/CFS and Long COVID. #longcovid #mecfs @resiapretorius long-covid.org/virus-induced-…
