Mauritania is one of the UK’s closest partners in the Sahel. Together @CheikhGhazouani and I discussed how we’re working together to boost economic growth, tackle climate change, and strengthen regional security. 🇬🇧 🇲🇷

From coastal erosion to social protection, UK partnerships in Mauritania are making a real difference. Great to visit Nouakchott’s fish market and see the impact of @BritishIntInv’s work and support for the Tekavoul programme.

At the UK-Mauritania special operations workshop, as part of @NATO’s cooperation package, I saw firsthand how joint training is forging resilience and stability across the region. Collaboration like this is shaping a safer future, together.

The FCDO’s first collaboration with a major African health research institution, @PasteurDakar, is a milestone. Together, we’re advancing outbreak detection and developing life-saving vaccines and diagnostics to strengthen African and global health security.

Last week the UK and Nepal joined the UN’s Feminist Foreign Policy + group. We will use this group to deepen our collaboration with partners around the world on meaningfully integrating gender equality into our foreign policy and diplomacy.

Deeply saddened by the news of a helicopter crash in Ghana which killed members of Ghana’s Government and military. 🇬🇧 stands in solidarity with 🇬🇭 during this difficult time of national mourning and sends its deepest condolences to bereaved families.

Today on #WorldDayAgainstTrafficking, we reaffirm our commitment to ending human trafficking. The UK is working with global partners to disrupt transnational criminal networks, prevent exploitation in cyber scam centres, and support survivors of these horrific crimes.

The UK wants to work with partners across Africa to ensure long term sustainable peace in eastern DRC.  Good to speak with @rdussey on this important matter, I look forward to our continued collaboration to support the agreements signed in Washington and Doha.

The UK and Qatar are partnering for peace. I welcomed @Dr_Al_Khulaifi to discuss our shared objectives in conflict resolution. I thanked him for Qatar’s ongoing mediation efforts, particularly in securing the Doha Declaration of Principles to bring lasting peace in eastern DRC.

Today's crises are testing the international community. We must collectively recommit to the principles of the @UN Charter to meet these challenges. The rule of law and multilateralism are the greatest tools we have to achieve peace and security.

Recent progress on peace processes gives us a path forward for ending violence in eastern DRC. I met with @martin_ngoga and @ZMukongo at UN #HLPF to urge swift implementation and continued commitment to peace.
