As our Chair and Founder @MartinSLewis says: “The government has a Tell Us Once system for when someone dies, yet we lack the same for those who are alive and struggling. That makes no sense. We need a single simple system that can work across essential services.”

🚨 New report 📢 We’re calling on the government to work with regulators to create a ‘Share Once’ support system, to offer people a safe and easy one-stop shop for disclosing their needs to all the essential services they deal with.

We have some fantastic news! Today @hmtreasury has recommended that we're awarded super-complainant status for @TheFCA and Payment Systems Regulator. We’re delighted to become only the 4th organisation to have super-complainant powers for all three of these regulators.

They often have a unique insight into when people may be struggling, through financial data and contact with customers through frontline staff. In our new paper, we’re urging banks to act – to help prevent more lives being lost to suicide. moneyandmentalhealth.org/publications/b…

Over 100,000 people in problem debt attempt to take their own lives each year in England. There’s rarely just one reason someone takes their own life, but financial difficulty can be part of the picture. Banks and building societies can make a difference and even save lives.
