Hello Cheesecake Friends! After months of an incredible amount of perseverance, thought and tearful consideration, I have given up the reins to Muddy Paws Cheesecake. Before I continue, don’t panic! Muddy Paws Cheesecake, my staff, the recipes, location, essence and all that Muddy Paws Cheesecake is, will remain the same! Nothing will change (except me not being there)! You have all rode the ride with me and I’m forever grateful! During the past 31 years, working 7 days a week, I often wondered what circumstances would be surrounding my final turn of the bakery door key. While I’m sad, I overwhelming relieved that the bakery will stay open and in amazing hands. The Muddy Paws Cheesecake legacy will live on! I have been blessed thousands of times more than the struggles, via passion, our customers, staff and work we’ve done in the community. I often say we have had 31 lives! THANK YOU. We have been much more than a bakery in the work we did. Besides making the world’s best cheesecake, we were part of change for the good in the world around us by donating over $250,000 to local rescues, STEP, and other charities. We have made over half a million cheesecakes from scratch (we are one of only a few bakeries left in the world making authentic cheesecake!), gained 42,000 followers, have earned 680 awards, served over 27,000 weddings, opened the first camper food truck ever and the first cheesecake food truck ever, starred with Al Roker on the Food Network show Roker on the Road, have been featured on dozens of national TV shows, served at the Emmy’s and The White House, and have fed stars Taylor Swift, Prince, George Lucas, Hugh Hefner, & Dustin Hoffman. Most profoundly, the impact on my own life. The bakery has taught me skills, forgiveness, grace and compassion. I have been blessed with the incredible joy of serving you, being part of your celebrations and having customers that have become friends. In September, my youngest child graduated. This came with new perspective on my future as I want to spend more time with my mother, my children wherever they land, AND I want to use all that I have learned in small business to spin it forward into launching my oldest child’s own business dreams! Many of you have followed my stories about Zoe, over the years. Zoe is a talented fashion designer, who focuses on gender neutral custom fashion for all sizes and has a heart for sustainability. Last month, Zoe was named artist in residence at a studio in St Paul! My new role as Zoe’s business development manager will become my focus and passion! Thank you for all the interest and love you’ve shown my 4 children over the years! As they launch, I must too, and the bakery will also soar to new heights. While I’m incredibly sad to miss seeing you, I am confident the bakery is in amazing hands, with the same amazing recipes, and I’m so excited that it will continue its journey! I felt I would not be honoring the legacy, customers, cheesecakes, and time invested over the years, if I were to close the bakery. I have put great consideration into who would take it over, ensuring our staff, cheesecakes and legacy would be protected. I have put the bakery into not only capable hands but ones who can flourish it, grow it and maintain the goodness we have created over 31 years!
