Health Canada has moved toward behavioral, gender-neutral donor risk assessments in 2026 - a major step away from outdated identity-based rules that stigmatized 2SLGBTQI+ people. Our open-access study (with SGM patient advisors) helped amplify lived experiences and push for change. But we're not done yet.
