The day is finally here! @MacArthurACPS principal Penny Hairston kicks off the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. "As we gather here today, it is a vital reminder that a building such as this is an investment in our children and in our community," says @DMPrincipal.

I am filled with joy! This morning I was joined by students, families, staff, @ACPSk12 leaders, city council members and community members to celebrate the @MacArthurACPS ribbon-cutting ceremony. Thank you to everyone involved in making this project come to life for our students!

Alexandria City School Board Chair Dr. Michelle Rief presented a commemorative plaque to @DMPrincipal, to hang inside of the newly constructed Douglas MacArthur that represents the commitment and support of our community to the school and our students.
