Great afternoon out at the EdinBrick Lego event today - loads of amazing stuff but was especially taken by this amazing and oddly familiar looking building… 🙂

Glasgow is a city of stories and storytellers. It is so wrong that Glasgow's book festival has been cancelled with just weeks to go. Aye Write is one of Scotland's biggest and most beloved book festivals - it is vital for readers and writers across Scotland and beyond.

Terrible news about the cancellation of @AyeWrite and Wee Write. Times are tough but the lack of will to sustain a flagship event in Scotland’s largest city is wretched, and casts a shadow over the whole sector.

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow: I’m still on a mission to spot these so for #IronworkThursday here’s a set of bay windows on Royal Terrace in the Park District which date from 1845 and have beautiful cast-iron mullions with composite capitals supporting the blonde sandstone 👀👇🥰!

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow: Did you know that the two entrances to the Merchants House have male and female characteristics? The east entrance on George Square has twin caryatid brackets whereas the north entrance on West George Street has a stern Old Father Clyde keystone 🥰!

Great afternoon and good turnout in Dundee for the @Ihbcscotland AGM, hosted by @DHET - with fascinating tour round parts of Dundee that other organisations cannot reach!

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow: For #IronworkThursday, it’s normally assumed that these magnificent lampbrackets on George Square by ironfounders, McDowall, Steven & Co are contemporaneous with the City Chambers when in fact they are a decade younger dating from circa 1900…🤔🥰!

A wonderful selection of legendary lensman Bert Hardy's Picture Post shots of Glasgow. What the article oddly fails to mention is that London's Photographers' Gallery is staging a major retrospective of his work, which opens tomorrow. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow: The Merchant City is a place of carefully controlled and composed views and focal points, but occasionally you unexpectedly come across one you’ve not seen before such as the water tank tower on Argyll Chambers with its skew-whiff ocular window 👀🥰!

Nice to see a BIG cherry picker with high level platform taking part in an inspection of the high level stonework on the former Glasgow Herald Building on #Glasgow’s Buchanan Street. The pedimented dormers are quite exposed so it’s worth regularly checking their integrity 🤔👍!
