It holds all of the heartbreak and hope we all know and want to know. I’ll never forget how he walked into the studio more prepared than I’ve seen anyone and it blew my mind. I hope you enjoy this tune with some headphones today.

We come to one of my favorite songs on the record. Written last January while making the best of a Nashville blizzard. “Wake” came as a result of a new tuning I was trying out, that moments before it started working under my fingers made me want to quit altogether.
