I am sick to death of it.
Day after day, Muslims are demonised, smeared, scapegoated and treated as fair game by politicians, media establishments and professional outrage merchants chasing clicks, votes and attention.
They pour fuel on fear and division, then suddenly discover their silence when ordinary Muslims are attacked by a man with a machete, simply for being muslim.
What happened in Edinburgh is exactly why so many of us have been sounding the alarm for years. Anti-Muslim hatred doesn't emerge from nowhere. It grows in an environment where hate and prejudice is normalised, rewarded and amplified.
Enough. Absolutely enough.
Muslims should not have to live with the constant message that they are suspects in their own country, outsiders in their own communities, or targets for someone else's political project.
The people stoking this hostility need to answer for the climate they are helping to create.
