USA 🇺🇸 will not send men’s or women’s 4×400m teams to the 2026 World Relays in Gaborone (May 2–3), citing difficulty securing top-tier athletes and the high cost of sending non-A squads. This means fans won’t see a USA 🇺🇸 vs Botswana 🇧🇼 men’s 4×400 rematch on Botswana soil, following the two nations’ dramatic split wins at the 2024 Olympics and 2025 Worlds. The meet is the primary qualifier for the 2026 World Ultimate Championships (mixed relays) and the 2027 World Championships (top 12 qualify per event), though USATF is confident the 4×400 teams can still qualify via world rankings.

Historic weekend for Nigerian 🇳🇬 sprinting! In the 61-year history of the NCAA Indoor Championships, no Nigerian man had ever claimed the men’s 60m crown until Kanyinsola Ajayi did it this past weekend. Ajayi stormed to victory in 6.45s, matching the Collegiate Record and equalling the African Record, a mark he had already hit two weeks earlier at the SEC Indoor Championships. Fun fact: Augustine Olobia won the 55m NCAA DI title in 1991, back when the NCAA contested the 55m instead of 60m. The closest anyone came after that were Obinna Eregbu and Olapade Adeniken in 1992 (over 55m), while Divine Oduduru was the closest over 60m, finishing 6th in 2018.

Going toe-to-toe with France! Full Time: France 🇫🇷 93 - 86 Nigeria 🇳🇬 D'Tigress might have lost to France in the #FIBAWWC qualifiers, but the kind of game they played against the French team showed what they are made of. Nigeria fought back from 20pts deficit, to keep the defeat at single digit. The future is bright!!
