Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode (1958) Chuck wrote the song in 1958, drawing inspiration from his own life and a blues pianist named Johnnie Johnson. The guitar riff and the story of the country boy who makes it big were autobiographical. Recorded at Chess Records (Chicago), it became the founding anthem of rock ‘n’ roll and the most covered song in history.
