"So the first Gresley Pacific design never proceeded beyond the paper stage. For the sake of Gresley's reputation, this is probably just as well, for the curious combination of Ivatt with Churchward was very unlikely to have achieved the outstanding success" - Cecil J. Allen

I can't lie, official coffeepot names were a blessing for me (even if it cost me my names for the W&S engines) because not only did I not want to just latch onto the popular fanon at the time, I also just could not come up with any good names for them myself at the time.

1902: A revolution amidst the British railways came before the Great Western, George Jackson Churchward produced his prototype 'No. 100', definitively marking the absolute basis of GWR Locomotive design in the coming decades.

In 1914, Jack Marston avenges his father, John Marston, by killing former FBI agent Edgar Ross in a duel. Elsewhere in the same year, Charles Topham Hatt is born, the TW&S and S&M are amalgamated into the NWR, and Toby is built at Stratford Works.

Can we start connecting our favorite franchises to Thomas like this please. This shits funny lol. Like the same logic can apply where Stepney visits Sodor at the same time zombies attack JFK, Nixon, Castro and McNamara at the pentagon

@ne3_miah @SudrianRails Either that, or something to do with mounting/attachment points on the chassis for the body to sit on. Regardless of what the reason is, here's a rushed edit showing what a more "proportional" Oliver would look like

@ne3_miah @SudrianRails The thing is, the bodyshell as-is should be able to sit lower, thus eliminating the problem entirely, but it never does. While I don't exactly have an up-to-date Oliver model to prove this, my working theory is that they gave WAY too much room for the eye and smoke mechanisms

There’s a growing chance I might have to make custom wheels for Hybrid Oliver seeing as BR55’s are too small and BR78’s are too big…. Anyone have any better ideas?

Then again, I can't be 𝘵𝘰𝘰 surprised that none of Britain's Sharp Stewart 4-4-0s survived. It's kind of hard to when you end up being absorbed into both the GWR and LMS, y'know, the railways that were SUPER hellbent on standardization?

"Yeah, we basically just built the same design for like a dozen different railways with minimal changes for 20+ years, but only the one in the Netherlands survives, whoopsies!!!!!"

Lemon 🍋@LemonyBluebells

my favorite genre of steam engine is when you look at their wikipedia page and it's like "this engine was highly successful, extremely popular, worked until the end of steam, and over 67 billion examples were built. none survived into preservation"

Did Carty ever do a 2k upscale of Percy Runs Away? Because I'm really looking to figure out if his left eyesocket was always this misshapen or not

Anyways, while I'm at it, updates on the maroon guy: His debut stories are nearly done (who would've guessed writing a full RWS-style volume for the first time would've been difficult?), while his RWS/Realistic model is currently having his cab interior modelled
