When we first launched Basedash over a year ago, our vision was to be the most AI-native BI platform on the planet. Back then, the state of the art was simple text-to-SQL within the query editor of a single chart. Meanwhile, we actually had a prototype of this full-dashboard agent (but it wasn't good enough to launch). Now that models (and our internal harness) have evolved, we're excited to bring the dashboard agent to everyone. Connect any company data, tell it what you want to track, and we'll build the dashboard for you.
Basedash@Basedash

NEW: today we're releasing our Dashboard Agent. The first AI agent that can build entire dashboards end-to-end. No need to describe the chart types, metrics or time series. The AI does that all for you. Build dashboards in seconds, not afternoons.

worst feeling in the world is getting pulled out of focused work for a meeting best feeling in the world is when it's a no-show

@MaxMusing What are you doing to remove yourself from the company? To be clear, I understand your argument, but by extension, the optimal number of employees is zero, including the founder.

hiring someone to do a job is almost always easier than setting up an AI workflow right now. honestly probably cheaper too. do it anyway. a person doesn't get smarter every 3 months when a new model drops. a person doesn't scale to 10x the workload overnight by spinning up more compute. every AI workflow you build today is an asset that compounds. every hire is a fixed cost that doesn't. we're betting everything on AI infrastructure at Basedash and it's not even close.

@sibaiisaac I actually (partially) agree with the idea. Just arguing semantics 🤷

@MaxMusing No I think he’s using it right. He’s wrong about his prediction but he’s using the word right. He means the user interface will be AI. “The way you interact with machines will be using AI” aka UI. He’s wrong but that’s what UI means.

@MaxMusing To be fair, a “user interface” has been pixels on a screen in 99% of cases for ~all of the history of commercial software. But yes, I also don’t like it when people use terms in the wrong way.

man, the new @linear review feature is actually good. I can finally work with 10k+ line diffs. still laggy in a few places but miles ahead of GitHub and Graphite.

we migrated Basedash over to GPT-5.5 as soon as it launched it's good, but inference is 2x what we were spending on GPT-5.4. promises of better token efficiency are very use-case dependent

@MaxMusing I saw him buy a huge call option position on Intel quite a while back. I was already heavily invested in Intel, cost basis $19.84. I decided I might as well shift some of the position into long-dated options. It worked out.

@Ydj79 @linear Nice, sounds similar to Graphite's "Tour" feature which I love

@MaxMusing @linear Yeah game changer! It provides summaries on the left panel about what has changed so you can click on that and shows you relevant code.. that way you don’t have to read through the several lines of boilerplate and can focus on the main logical flows

@just_be_dev @linear We have that behind a flag, looking into why it's not enabled 😅 One problem is that GitHub doesn't allow mentioning apps which sucks, so you just have to type the at-mention out in plaintext and know that it will work

@linear I'd really, really love it if I could chat with the linear agent in a github comment, similar to the claude github integration. Just being able to CC it to make a follow up issue would be huge.
