Just F-ing Hit It
We're all really guilty of overcomplicating things.
Trying to think too much in a pressured situation, whereas sometimes you need to Just F-ing Hit It.
Thank you to Bernd Wiesberger for sharing this bit of advice with us 🤝

Struggle with Over The Top?
This has been something that we have been working on with Karol and it has improved a lot.
Karol tends to only rotate the body from the top rather than have a little lateral shift.
This results in the shaft moving forward above plane and leads to inconsistent strikes.
We focused on allowing the lower body to move towards the target in transition and feeling the arms fall into the space in the downswing. A little feedback from the alignment sticks when practicing helped to reinforce that feeling.

Fix Your Path Left ⛳️
Karol was struggling with swinging slightly Over The Top, hitting some pulls, slices and a few heel strikes.
All we did was adjust her shoulder alignment and made sure she completed her turn and this got her On Plane hitting super straight shots immediately.
Always important to check this simple part of the set-up!

How To Play THE STINGER
Here are 3 simple thoughts to help you play The STINGER
1. Move the ball back – This helps you create a lower dynamic loft at impact.
2. Shorter Backswing – This will reduce a little club head speed which takes off spin.
3. Finish Low – This will help ensure you cover the ball more with the upper body and create more shaft lean through impact.
Test this out in practice. You never know when it might come in handy.

Want Better balance? Try this simple drill.
Most golfers aren’t thinking about weight through the feet.
They are often focused on some of the bigger things they see like an Over The Top or a Hanging Back
Yet how we use the ground will massively impact those moves and in turn influences our ball striking
As you know, in the downswing we want some lateral shift of the lower body and rotation.
This drill helps you achieve both.
Simply doing this will create awareness of where you are and that is the starting point of change.

Stop Duffing Your Wedges !!
If you try and apply what you do in the long game to a 50-yard pitch shot you are in trouble.
When it comes to this yardage and under it’s about finesse
We need a different motion to tap into our feel.
If you are patient with the transition, allowing your arms to drop this will not only help you soften things up and feel more but it will also help you use the leading edge and bounce through the turf.
This feel of TURN, DROP and CATCH it with the body has been game changing for our students and my own game.

Hit the ball 40 yards further by improving your backswing?
Sounds ambitious but Dean was under-turning in his backswing which just put the club totally out of position!
It was so simple, get more hip turn and suddenly the club was deeper around the body and gave Dean full permission to get the club on plane and smash further and straighter.

How many putts would you need? ⛳️
Controlling expectations is so important for us when we are putting.
We often think that we should be better than we are and get really frustrated when we don’t hole putts.
The reality is even the best players don’t hole putts all the time.

How do you play the uphill lie?
There are actually a couple of ways you can do this. You can go with or against the slope!
1: With the slope (great for longer clubs as they’re generally shallower into contact)
- Ball position, normal or even slightly further forward
- spine angle, approximately perpendicular to the slope
- The ball will go really high so club up
2: Against the slope (I like this better for shorter irons as the swing is steeper and we’re looking for solid contact just like Karol)
- ball position further back
- Lean on front leg
- The through swing will probably be more of a punch style because of the slope
Which one would you do?

What is your routine on the putting green:
Do you use Aimpoint?
How much do you use your feet?
Do you have intentional practice strokes to tune in to the distance?
We’d love to hear ⛳️
